Mitch mate I've said it before and I'll say it again, take a step back.
You need to seriously assess the reasons people are reacting this way to you and figure out whether it truly is just because they're hating for no good reason, or if maybe something about your behaviour is instigating this every time.

As you can see with Brion's post above even people totally disconnected to any previous issues, who prior to you contacting him would have had no understanding of any issues anyone else has with you, still was taken aback and offended by your behaviour to them.

I'm not trying to be mean here bud nor am I trying to hate on you.
You really need to take a step back and think about what issues people are having with you and think about a way to genuinely address that instead of trying to skirt around it with a new venture and getting upset when people aren't convinced.

there are so many OW players out there I'm surprised you picked NRG to mention

obviously seagull is the most successful on that due to his streaming (and has already been mentioned plenty in this thread before), but as a team they've had very limited success (it's still super cool though to see so many tf2 players together)

hymzi/zappis/zebbo/knoxxx/tviq/hafficool are more successful in competitive play,

good frags and i liked the edit but i feel if you're going to attach it to such a well-known theme you should really try to explore the theme a lot more than you did. Probably would have liked it more if you didn't link it to stranger things

i mean, i'm all for getting new casters in. I love watching new casters and helping them out when they ask for advice. I just don't know if this is the best environment to be testing out new casters? Idk if you see it this way but i do think this is a pretty big deal as far as tf2 goes, and I think we should really be promoting it with the best we have. Not saying sigafoo is a bad caster, I have no idea how he'll cast 6es and honestly he could be amazing, I just disagree with this being the time to test the waters.
