#60 Unlocks and effective strategies? in TF2 General Discussion
Not_MatlockLast season my team was able to get an Engie with a lvl 3 sentry on top of Gravelpit C to prevent spawners from getting to B.

There's also the concept of blocking crit stickies with the ScoRes, but it seems very hit or miss.

Good lord I remember that. Probably the low point of S13 for Brave Little Toasters.

KissmehooliatmohoolitrogAlso remove image tags and just show the link.why? So that images aren't repeated needlessly over and over, visually clogging the page.Oh ok, I thought he meant all the time.
Yea, I hate when people quote everything above them, but sometimes it helps so it's easy to keep up with what was said before...I could careless if it stayed or went away.

Yeah seriously, how obnoxious.

#8 Trying to set up two monitors in Hardware

When I had fps_max 0 I would get 2000 fps on jump maps and that seriously screwed up movement and projectiles. Go figure. I can also definitely notice whenever I dip below 240 or so (current max is 299), but that only happens in pubs.

#20 120hz and why I should get it in Hardware
Lunacidedownpourif you cant maintain 120fps, dont get a 120Hz monitor
thats it

I always heard that you need to maintain 240fps to get the full effect of the 120hz, is that true?

Sort of. I can notice when I go under 240. Can you notice when you go under 120 at 60Hz? If so, you'll probably notice it when you go under 240 at 120Hz.

If you need a new monitor and want a nice one, might as well get a 120hz (or THE 120Hz right now, since afaik there is only one good one). Or get one if you have gobs of money. It's not going to make you a god, it is just a bit smoother. You can actually see scouts' legs move when they ADADADAD hard.

Also pretty sure the BenQ monitor already has something pretty similar to lightboost on it already, but I didn't really look to much into that.

#2 huge fps drops in Off Topic

Run TF2 with the task manager open and check your CPU utilization. Does your CPU usage spike? Also try using speedfan or a similar program to check your cpu temps. In my experience, cpu usage is the biggest factor in FPS drops. I doubt your fps cap has much to do with it, but uncapping it won't really hurt you.

#12 What do you like in a map? in Map Discussion

I've always thought that cp_5gorge_pro would be fun. Middle needs a rework, and second just needs less sniper lines.

#22 TF2 on the verge of being unplayable in Q/A Help

Your issue is not RAM or windows vista. Your issue is not your video card either. TF2 eats CPUs alive. The two things you can do that will noticeably improve your fps are:

1) Get a new CPU (and probably motherboard, since I would guess your current mobo isn't compatible with the most cost-effective performance CPUs out there)

2) Run TF2 at a reduced resolution.

TF2 seems to get more inefficient after each update. On my old computer (Athlon X2 cpu), my frames dropped significantly after the pyromania update and became essentially unplayable (drops to sub-30 fps in fights) after MvM. I think it's mostly due to particle effects...I would get a constant 5-10 fps if I looked downward while standing on top of a teleporter.

#2 Hit Boxes! in TF2 General Discussion

STVs do not reflect the actual in-game interp properly so hitboxes always appear buggy in them. Doesn't actually mean that the sniper shot thin air and got a headshot in-game.
