#8 What are the subtle things top level players do? in TF2 General Discussion

Being a bad player myself my advice probably won't matter but...

A lot of what I have heard from team demo reviews of higher players and general tips from higher players is that, a lot comes down to team synergy and knowledge of how the team looks at the game. If your scout combo is good at working together without having to explain each move that can punish a lot of teams without complicating comms.
This can also apply to a combo of pocket and med and demo

#369 Origins of Your Name/Alias in Off Topic

Me and my brother used to play Sonic + Knuckles at my grandma's house all the time, being the younger brother I was always Knuckles. Idk, it's a nice way to keep my brother around considering he doesn't play video games.

gummydownpourRawkstarslinkyNow I know im going to be in the minority about this and im fine with it but I dont see why everyone loves nintendo as much as they do. People shit on the COD series for milking that franchise as much Activision does but Nintendo do the exact same thing and people love them. I mean nintendo has been releasing the same 5 games since the 80s and 90s and people just love them for it. For both the COD series and most if not all of the nintendo series if you've played one then you've played them all. Its just something I dont get and why people have to be hypocrites with their likes and dislikes for franchises/companies is something I also dont get.
Lets not generalize here...Mario and Kirby have been milked a ton. Zelda not so much, each one of those games have been unique and incredible, bringing new ideas and fresh stories along each and EVERY time. Sure there's the occasional remake, but that's no reason to get mad at a company. Smash Bros has really changed it up between games; maybe not to the common eye, but to a loyal follower, there have been major changes across the board. And if you dig deeper into other franchises like Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Animal Crossing and Metroid, you'll know that the developers have been working a hell of a lot harder than anyone at Activision.

On a side note: I'm pumped for Smash Bros.
mmmm nope, zelda has been pretty much the same thing everytime. just because you add 1 new item/gimmick doesnt make it a whole new interesting game.
all of those other IPs have been around for at least 10 years and haven't really changed besides
going 3D

Look at the difference between the newest one (between two worlds) and ocarina, and skyward sword, and mm. Those games are so different if Link wasn't in them you'd call them a different game. Look at the difference between CODBO, and CODMW2, and there isnt one. You just get dropped into the middle of a war, handed an AK (I'm looking at you airport scene), and just gun down a few hundred people. the end.

You asked him to compare 10 years of difference, then compared two games that were a year apart. At least be fair with your comparisons

Deathadder 2013. The default HP mouse. A crappy mouse bought at Target. Any mouse you plug into the computer.

The mouse doesn't matter, it happens with every mouse I use. The problem is TF2 not the mouse, not the drivers.

#1 TF2 causes mouse to act weirdly in Q/A Help

Hi, as of recent my mouse has been causing some issues in TF2. I've only found one person with the same problem on the internet and their steam post has no responses in a month :/

So here is my problem, my mouse has become basically a needy child. If I don't press a button on it (M1-M5 for me) the first time I press one of them it will not register, as if it has to be "woken up." As you can imagine this is hell when going for the 8) and nothing happens.

It is just TF2, not my mouse. If TF2 is closed my mouse works perfectly. I reinstalled and that didn't help.

Thanks for any help in advance :)

#86 TeamFortress.TV ZOWIE Invitational in News

Yeah I am for sure buying my next mouse from Zowie. Enigma do you have any word on a way to credit this tourney for the purchase? (ex. Coupon code "TF2", "TFTV", "bLoodForPres") Even if there is no discount involved I think it would nice to credit the tournament.

#5 Check Enemy MediGun Script in Customization
DamnEasyIdunno shit about this but it looks like that it wont change to the class you were on but to scout (first class) Because every class has alias kritzcheck4 on it and how does your script know which one top pick? AGAIN idunno shit about this lol

When you go on to a class it runs the .cfg file for that particular class, meaning that kritzcheck4 is then updated for that class. That's how it knows

DarkNecridAlso this script makes no sense for 6s really since if you're going to do this, 99.9% of the time you're going to be on Scout and probably in spawn, so you can just reduce it down to 1 script. I used to have it way back when I played 6s and you could do it during the entirety of the freeze time and not get to mid any slower.

e:

well unless you got bad spawn points that put you further away than where you started obv.

It's all still one script, it just updates to each class. Yes, technically I could have just made it so soldier and scout get updated, but at that point I might as well add it to them all. Feel free to only add kritzcheck4 to your scout .cfg, I'm not stopping you.

#1 Check Enemy MediGun Script in Customization

So this involves a lot of different .cfg files, so bare with me :)

This script effectively binds one button to (over the course of a few presses) check what medigun the enemy medic is running. It will change you to spy, check the gun, then change you back to the class you were on.

I have listed the files to edit in alphabetical order:

Binds:

bind "L" "kritzcheck"

(L is my button of choice, change it here to your liking)

Demoman:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class demoman"

Engineer:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class engineer"

Heavyweapons:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class heavyweapons"

Medic:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class medic"

Pyro:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class pyro"

Scout:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class scout"

Sniper:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class sniper"

Soldier:

alias kritzcheck "join_class spy"
alias kritzcheck4 "join_class soldier"

Spy:

alias kritzcheck "disguise 5 -1; alias kritzcheck kritzcheck2"
alias kritzcheck2 "slot2; alias kritzcheck kritzcheck3"
alias kritzcheck3 "lastdisguise; alias kritzcheck kritzcheck4"

If you have any questions post below, or if I made a mistake let me know. It's 3am and I made this up in bed. Good night.
