Does your mobo have a debug led?

#30 The Keyboard Thread (last updated Sep. 24, 2013) in Hardware
TuggerGreat list, but I'm a little confused how the whats a budget section doesn't have a single ducky board. They make some quality stuff.

Or Filco too for that matter. The "What's a budget?" section should be keyboards above 80$, as once get there the build materials' quality and overall build quality get much higher than the 60$ CM keyboards. Should also update prices too.

#7 CPU Curiosity in Hardware

It depends on what you want to do in addition to tf2 as well as how you want to play it/ 1080p 60 fps? then the A10 is great, just remember that its gpu uses the system memory so getting faster RAM is better (if you are going to use integrated graphics). If you plan on doing streaming or something else more cpu intensive, then go for the i5 non k. If you want to overclock, get the K edition. Please people when asking hardware questions be more specific, other than "Is this good?"

#10 PC Build Thread in Hardware
Ben_FranklinIs the PSU good enough for now and upgrades to the video card later?

Depends on what kind of upgrade. If you go crossfire/sli then no, but for single gpu its fine.

#8 PC Build Thread in Hardware

I'd add overclock.net, tom's hardware and r/buildapc to the good resources list to use for builds. Overclock.net has subforums on basically every computer part and peripheral known to man, so if you have a specific question there is a good place to go. Tom's is a similar site, with a bit more scope in terms of their hardware covered (cars for instance). r/buildapc is by far the best: a well moderated forum with professionals who know how to make builds cheaper and better.

Anyways my build:

If you don't want to click, its basically an AMD FX8350 build designed for streaming/ ocing with liquid cooling at about $1900 US. Gets around 130 fps at stock speeds in dx8 while streaming, usually in pubs and some HL.

#9 Thoughts: Dynamic Maps? in Map Discussion

If you think about it, PL is already a dynamic mode since it has a moving health regen cart. If you want some ones where map layout changes, there is one map I have seen with a raising water level based on cap time in koth, and some with doors that open revealing flanks (cp_steel). Idk how a dynamic map would work if it were based on triggerable obstacles or whatnot (like in some racing games) but they would be pretty interesting to see.

#12 New Intel Generation in Hardware

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i7-4770K_Haswell/ is a pretty good review. Besides the integrated graphics improvement they have improved temps drastically. Everything else seems like a small improvement.

#7 Is This a Decent Build? in Hardware

any corsair 500 watt one should be fine. 700 is overkill for what you have. Also consider ditching the cpu cooler if you are not planning on overclocking, and put the money towards a better cpu.

#14 InfernaLAN 2013 LANfest in LAN Discussion

Update, they lied. There is no 6v6 tourney despite them having 6v6 trophies. They instead gave them out to the winners of some pub contests. TF.TV took home two out of three in total, so rest assured that comp players can still pub stomp on LAN. I will try and get pics of the trophy when I get it.
EDIT: the trophy

One DAYYYYYYYY!!! HYPED UP. There is no official tf2 tourney, but there is a "contest" so who knows. Also Intel is doing their haswell chip announcement at the event, so I'm expecting to receive so much nerd swag. WHO IS READY

#14 Is ratemyprofessors.com reliable? in Off Topic

One of my professors made alt accounts and posted on his on profile with varying opinions and views on himself. I would show examples but apparently my school doesn't exist in their database atm. As long as your professors aren't like mine I guess you are fine.
