I fixed it, it was steam itself all along dropping my frames. Did a quick uninstall and reinstalled and i'm absolutely good now :D

Something that I've noticed that it only seems to happen if I press start search on valve servers. Also, my steam overlay is terribly slow and choppy while using it in game once I start searching. Perhaps it has something to do with Steam itself? Should I try re-installing steam?

Its a school computer, ans I don't have credentials to access specs... its a yoga 260, I suppose I could find it online

I installed DX9 frames from Chris's config, but it absolutely murdered my frames the second I enter a game. Once I press "start search", my frames drop from 60+ to less than 20. I eventually end up with 5 fps during firefights. Help please? I use a Yoga 260 that has been able to run perfectly fine at a constant 60 fps beforehand

Can someone help me with my specific problem? I'm playing in dx 90, and these are the only things that are in my launch options (to fix the ShaderAPIDx8 spam in console during matchmaking cuz Volvo is shit.)

I was told it forces the game to use a certain graphics card or some shit like that. Regardless, mumble overlay becomes white boxes, I'm not able to see any names at all, and it completely blocks the kill feed so I can't keep track of player ads (aside from tapping tab, but if you see a flood of blu or red in kill feed you can mostly guess without doing that)

Is there something in there that is messing it up? I only have a custom hud, and no cfgs at all.
