Quickies are nowhere near the loch in terms of power. Loch was arguably a direct upgrade while being down 4 stickies vs stock is a massive downside for holding anything with quickies. I don't disagree that they are annoying and change how demo is "supposed" to be played so maybe that's enough to blacklist it?

I kind of wonder if the only way to really bring people back is to make big changes and make the format feel fresh. Unfortunately all you can really do is try new maps or do some crazy rule change. I will say if you change the rules and just ban sniper I will be back. For me the reason I don't play HL is its just less fun.
RGL lan security feels way too lax for how many freaks are out there in the community.
maxiemaxiemaxieFinally, we shouldn't be removing IM. HL historically has allowed players to play for free until invite. This is no longer true, and previously, only IM and below remained as unpaid divisions. Now, RGL has decided to erase IM and squeeze these players into main to force them to pay a fee since main is a paid division. Worse still, NONE of these paid divisions but invite possess a prize pool. Why are players being forced to pay when they don't even have a chance to earn any winnings of their own?.
Its three fucking dollars like come on.
Saying "its always been free" is just not a convincing argument, and adding prize pools to the lower divisions just means increased league fees. People also are not playing for prize money as their motivating factor at divisions that low. What would perhaps help is if RGL is transparent with their finances to show us these fees are needed to keep the lights on.
GrapeJuiceIIII genuinely wanted to rip my hair out when this happened. For the record, b4nny lawyer'ing this point was clever and technically right - but technically right is about the worst kind of right you can be. RGL needs an updated mission statement re: springrolls
Does it really eliminate banning loch? There is precedent for banning "direct upgrade" weapons such as the pocket pistol and cow mangler. Clearly the mission statement isn't a top priority or else those weapons would be allowed.
To me, hitting "nice" shots with the loch feels fake and unsatisfying. Its like the weapon plays the game for you. I want this shit banned so I won't be borderline throwing for not choosing it.
JwBtw, I was testing 8k for fun earlier and on an MGE server with 2 players there was 0 noticeable stuttering, but when I switched to a 6s pug it started stuttering. So idk what is up with the engine.
I can only guess its because tf2 doesn't do a lot of splitting CPU tasks between multiple cores, so when you are in an MGE server, there is a lot more CPU headroom for your 8k polling, but 6v6 pushes your CPU too hard that 8k doesn't work well. I think more modern games can perform mouse input calculations independently from other calculations.
AimTechIf your PC can handel higher rates just fine, there’s no harm in cranking it up. Even a tiny bump in response time is technically an advantage.
The problem is TF2 cant handle high polling rates.
For me, anything above 2k polling rate leads to stuttering in tf2 when moving the mouse.
I wonder if netcode could be improved. Lag-compensated projectiles would go a long way in making projectiles feel good on more than 40 ping.
I think we can expedite the process by auto-banning anyone with an emo profile picture on RGL.

Tentative bump for invite demo
giannihow would you guys recommend cleaning a mousepad and mouse?
For a mousepad deep clean every month just take it to your shower, soak it, and lather dish soap with your hand or washcloth. From my understanding dish soap is better for getting the oils and flakes of skin out and does not leave behind a residue like a shampoo would do. Be sure to rinse it well so no soap is left. For a quick clean spray disinfectant spray on it and go over the pad with a microfiber cloth.
