I've got the exact same problem, 30 Mb down 3 Mb up internet should be able to handle twitch fine, right? Computer specs definitely aren't the problem.

I think you messed something up. >1 is more than one.
How about adding a toggle for people that aren't either looking for a team or for players so that the lft/lfp threads don't show up in the sidebar? I find it pretty annoying when at times almost half the threads in the sidebar are just looking threads like here:
