The rules are pretty fair. The point of sidebar is to promote members of the TeamFortress.TV community and not necessarily members from other TF2 communities.
To others that are reading this, the sidebar used to be specifically for competitive TF2 promotion, but then the community decided that it wanted to see "TF.TV community streamers" that didn't necessarily stream TF2, so the focus changed.
@OP participate in the community, read the forums, make posts, and your account will qualify.

you can put tons of times into a lot of things but if that time is just spent fucking about its not going to mean much vs somebody who spends his time trying to improve and get better
