OK found out that it was not a HUD issue after all. I had 5 files sitting in my tf/custom folder.
Namely:
- advspec.vdf
- advspec_b2
- advspec_b2.vpk.sound.cache
- spec_helper_v0.1
- spec_helper_v0.1.vpk.sound.cache
After I deleted these files I stopped crashing.
Not sure if anyone will have this same problem but oh well now you know.
