I think almost everyone had that as their wild card prediction. It was hard to see them not make it but it happened.

#59 Rules Don't Matter? [The UGC Experience] in TF2 General Discussion

You couldn't agree on a server so the admin chose a neutral, third party server that happened to give fair pings to both teams.

Literally don't see the problem.

So literally everyone's expectations of the group stage has been destroyed right?

#1 Looking for WiFi Extender help. in Hardware

So currently I'm using this router at home.
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/d-link-d-link-wireless-n600-dual-band-router-refurbished-dir-815-re/10274307.aspx?path=35243eb23178d845df50799391b5bddden02

Have a 50mb/s plan. House is two floors, the router is on the bottom floor and I live a floor up but am somewhat far from being above the router. Usually I get about 15-25mb/s. Having a lot of problems lately where in TF2/Mumble/online games, I lag out for like a second every couple minutes. That and it's been a struggle to watch streams without lots of buffering. Moving around isn't a viable solution at this point so I want to look into extending the house wireless network.

Thinking of grabbing this: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/d-link-d-link-wireless-range-extender-dap-1320-dap-1320/10231697.aspx?path=cc243a6d6f175d77f9c9414af3aa68aeen02

It seems like an easy thing to plug it on the second floor above or a bit away from the router.

Alternatively I've been looking at this as well: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/d-link-d-link-powerline-av500-mini-adapter-starter-kit-dhp-309av-dhp-309av/10227514.aspx?path=d73d1e8388953fa22f345754e527ae12en02
Downside however seems to be that I would still need to run an ethernet cable.

Currently on a laptop but am planning to build a new desktop in the summer so looking for a long term recommendation. Realistically I'm gonna grab a USB as well for that. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

DK looks incredible. Their Invoker/Centaur is ridiculous and they still have a bunch of other combos that they can use. It doesn't look like anyone can stop them this time around.

#99 THE REMATCH IS REAL in TF2 General Discussion
CrayboffFor example, what happened here seems to show that if any UGC team in any league is down a player they are allowed to force the rescheduling of the game even if the other team doesn't agree to it. If they drop a player in the middle of a match (for whatever reason whether it be a fire alarm or even a modem being unplugged because there's no way to tell the difference if the team decides to lie about it), they can get the results of that match overturned.

I don't understand this line of thinking. If a team has a player drop, you're not contacting admins to reschedule the match. You're getting on your Friend's List, looking for your rostered backups, and getting them ready to hop in if the lost player doesn't come back along with any roster shuffling. Why do people expect this to happen in say UGC Silver for a regular season matchup? It's not like Gentlemen's Club sat there and ended up playing 9 vs. 8 on purpose, they went out and grabbed any of their available backups and went from there.

If it happens I'll definitely go. Always wanted to go to LAN and one near home would be awesome.

#4 Spy in Recruitment (looking for team)

It's playoffs time at this point of the season. It's a bit weird as some teams are trying to do tryouts and some are trying to practice hard. Best bet is to make a topic if you haven't already and to keep an eye on the LFP section.

http://www.ugcleague.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?7-North-America

If you see a team that's looking for Spy, don't be afraid to add the team leader and ask for a tryout. You want to get a bunch of tryouts in so that there's a better chance of someone feeling that you would be a solid pickup. If you have a looking thread up as well, there's the chance that a new leader who needs a Spy will add you and offer a tryout.

Spy is also a pretty popular class so there is an abundance of them. If you're able or feel okay with playing another class, it wouldn't hurt to tryout for that class as well. At the lower levels, it's probably more important to just get some playing time and gain experience. Regardless, good luck with your search!

Is that a pretzel bagel? I've never heard of this beautiful thing before

It's been available at Tim Hortons for about a month now. It's amazing with butter. :p

I feel like "pretzels" is suppose to be a key word to activate some secret agents within the TF2 community.
