Anybody here got YGO DevPro? I just got it yesterday and put my deck in and have be doing moderately well. Anybody wanna play a few? DN works for me as well.

In my opinion, shit talk between friends is fine. I've had a few instances where I'll be playing an official or a lobby and a friend of mine ends up on our team or mine and I shit talk him constantly. He doesn't mind because he knows I'm joking. But you also have to remember that a lot of TF2 players might kids who got this game because their parents didn't think anything could be wrong, and you'll occasionally come across one in lobbies or something similar and he won't really know how to deal with it. Take into account that matchmaking is coming out and some of these kids may get interested and join, and then get really upset when somebody calls them bad.

TL;DR

You never know who might be on the other side of the mic, they might have issues, so better safe than sorry.

EDIT: On the flip side, shit talk is good. Remember all the times in Smash Leffen has caused a stir because he said shit about somebody? So it can be good or bad. Refer again to the TL;DR.

I made a hit sound for my own personal use. Rough explanation is that it's fox's reflector sound from Melee. It's made by me, but the settings are made so that it works perfectly.

I also sent it to a melee group on facebook and many people requested other hit sounds from Melee, so I just decided to make a "20XX hit sound pack" if anybody here was interested.

I got a few.

My brothers are 12 and they were 10 when I introduced them to competitive TF2. The first thing I showed them was a TLR frag video. Ever since, they keep asking me if I'm secretly, TLR, despite the fact that I've said no each time.

I had a sociology project in which I had to show how competitive gaming affected society. In doing so, I showed the various amount of time people played, I showed them a picture of somebodies profile with 200 hours and they didn't care, and then I showed them b4nny's number of hours and the next question from literally ALL of my class was if I knew if he was fat or not.

I have a friend at work who thinks he's the best player in TF2 because he has an australium and can top a scoreboard in a valve server. I haven't told him about competitive yet, nor have I asked him to MGE me. He also has no idea that I also have an australium, so he constantly calls me "low tier."

Somebody thought I had modded Super Smash Bros. Melee when they saw me play TF2 because my hitsound is Fox's melee reflector.

My dad knows I'm into a lot of competitive games, but TF2 is the only one where he will watch over my shoulder, boo at me when I'm losing, and then when I ask why, he tells me he's trying to prepare me for "when you finally leave Open and go to LAN". I haven't told him yet that I'm not open and that he'd be the one paying for it.

I follow both TF2 and Melee, and my brothers try to as well, however, they frequently mix up names. They once accidentially called Mango "b4nny" and vise versa, as well as having confused Cyzer and Hugs.

Hey guys. I'm currently in my senior year of high school and I'm trying to create a sociology project based on video games, the communities inside of them, and how people act inside of the community versus outside. I'm currently asking two main communities, the Team Fortress 2 community, and the Super Smash Brothers community.

I know lots of you are also Smash Players, so if enough people are interested, I'll post it here as well in a separate topic, since the Smash questionare only has 4 responses.

1) What is your definition of cyber-bullying?

Any type of bullying that is not physical, this can range from anything as minor as texts to something as major as a video in some way, shape or form. This act is usually done to harass, mentally/emotionally harm, or demotivate.

2) Have you experienced cyber-bullying?

Yes, on multiple occasions I've had people gang up on me and spread rumors simply for the sake of their own entertainment at my expense. I've also seen it happen to many of my other friends.

3) In your opinion, how different is cyber-bullying from traditional bullying

While the outcome of Cyber bullying is the same as traditional, they are both performed in different ways, much how boys mostly bully physically while girls mostly bully mentally. Cyber bullying can range from Anythjng electronic to pictures of the person to chats that have been screen shot.

4) Do you feel that cyber-bullying is a problem in the community? (ETF2L/ TF2)

Yes and No. I feel like most people in the community are generally very nice and have good intentions, but there are certain people who do it. I'm sure it's pretty easy to name who.

5) If anonymity on the internet was removed, do you think it will effect cyber-bullying?

Not at all. If you get bullied or picked on by somebody in an online game, you can report them just as easily by their alias in a game just as easily as you could easily by somebody's real name in real life. Not to mention that, even if you know the name or identity of the person behind the screen doesn't mean they'll stop. I could get bullied by a John Doe tomorrow, but unless they live nearby, the only thing to do is what has been done for years. Block the person and ignore them.

EDIT: And can you guys quit with this "Just close your computer" joke. Sure, it's possible, but that prevents you from doing something you like or need to do, and then it not only harms you, but it also lets whoever is bullying you think they won.

Also a site called rainbowmonkeys.com popped up recently and it prompts you to type stuff. Typing the right stuff gives you responses. For example, if you type Numbuh 2, it replies with "Planetary Decommision Pending." As well as stuff for other things. Like voice actors names. Swear words. Etc

I am still in high school as a senior.

I spend high school jacking off and playing enough video games to not have a social life outside of said games.

Do have one story though.

It was near the end of the school year of my Sophmore year, and I'm in English class and we're watching a movie because we didn't have a final exam, we had a project, which everybody has already done. And I'm sitting with my phone in my lap texting and hiding it from the teacher because that's just what we did, and I'm talking to a friend of mine at random intervals, and since he's being me I have to physically turn around. And suddenly a bunch of kids across the room fall out of their seats and scream "ew!" And I thought somebody had puked due to exam nerves and I blow it off.

About 5 minutes after these kids ran out of the classroom, my principal calls me to his office. I get in and he's got an officer with him. He asks me what I was doing and I told him I was texting. He asks me what else I was doing, and I said watching a movie. So he asks to see my last text. I show him, and he gives me my phone back. My last text was 5 to 9 minutes before he called me and the text before that was some 2 hours ago.

So he calmly folds his fingers together in some sort of evil villain style and tells me promptly that people reported that I was jerking it in class. So I panicked because I wasn't.

Long story short, he tried to send me to alternative school, but my mom boycotted the desicion by keeping me home, resulting in me failing my health test.

I plan to invite the principal to my new school when I graduate, and the card will say, "Please come to my graduation at this school that is much nicer than that one, because people here care about education and do not assume students are dumb enough to masterbate in class. Hope to see you there!"

More stuff for matchmaking-to-be?

I replied to a previous newbie mix awhile back expressing interest in participating, but I also mentioned that I only get an hour a day on weekdays. As luck would have it, after saying I wanted to show up in Mixes, I got scheduled for work EVERY SINGLE Friday. This was after CHRISTMAS. Lucky me, right?

That said, I know I for sure would enjoy Saturday night mixes more, since I get an hour and a half on Weekends and I wouldn't have to worry about quitting mid-game because of time constraints, just as long as they don't start crazy late at night.
