#6 How to airshot wild strafers? (MGE) in Q/A Help

By wildly do you mean that they're strafing left and right? If so then expect them to go right when they go left etc. You can get hints about where people want to go based on their playstyle. A lot of people favor directions and will tend to go to the right or left more of the time so that's always something important to look for. A lot of people will strafe very wide and do it frequently which is, for me at least, hard to expect when you're used to people doing the usual left, right, left, right. Many high-level players wait a while because they're more comfortable with waiting for a shot that they're pretty positive will hit rather than taking what can sometimes be a 50-50 chance.

Also take into consideration the environment. Although this plays a bigger factor ingame it's still important to take note of the possible places someone can land. Many players like just going high ground every time but others will change it up by purposefully landing off of it and disadvantaging their position in exchange for catching you off guard and maybe landing enough spam to knock you off too (think gully mid).

When it comes to juggling the main reason I miss double or triples is because I react too fast. The most important factor is to calm down and take a few milliseconds longer to line up the shot rather than flick and miss. And ya, aim as low as you can on the person so you can keep popping them up (if it would benefit you).

#29 Cool Stuff to do during summer? in Off Topic

I'm gonna be working out and playing trombone for marching band. Although I should probably get a job. I've put it off for too long. Maybe get back into a sport as well.

#344 Valve and Competitive TF2 in News
BonafideI actually just realized that the chances of TF2 being ported to source2 are much higher now they are introducing stuff like matchmaking, this makes me even more hyped

Matchmaking and source2 coming soon makes me soo happy.

thmpsnTheOfficialLunchbox1: Antivirus solution
I would recommend picking BitDefender, Avast or AVG.
DO NOT GET AVAST, it's so annoying with its "upgrade now" pop-ups and shit

There's a setting for that. I barely ever know avast is running and it's great. Does it's job and doesn't bog my computer down. Bitching about a software when it's something 2 seconds away in the options menu is pretty ignorant.

*Quits TF2 because the sensitivity is too high.*

#57 A quick survey on cyber bullying in Off Topic
fatswimdudea little off topic but that might be my least favorite picture on the internet. its visually offensive, represents and potentially glorifies a lifestyle that is sad and disgusting, but is also posted ironically by edgy assholes. it accomplishes nothing besides riling people up and ruining threads

It wasn't posted ironically and I wasn't being edgy. The picture sure is edgy though. You people value life too much. I mean there's a massive amount of people on this planet and a few less, especially ones that don't have much to offer, would definitely do it some good. Getting bullied? Go work out. Do your math homework. Focus on yourself for a while, perhaps block out society for a bit. Realize how beautiful the reality of life is, not the veil you cover it with.

Life is a pretty cool thing and it's up to you how you want to perceive it. Getting upset about someone over the internet is genuinely funny to me. The only time I get riled up in game is because I have high standards for myself and use other players as an excuse for me to vent which is wrong and is something I knowingly work on and that's the important part. Realizing something about you can be changed or improved.

Next time you get mad or sad about something, take note of what it was. Try to make it never happen again because crying about it won't make those people go away.

#32 Thinking about buying a mouse pad... in Hardware
wonderlandthe 3.0 feet won't fit the aurora.
ms-2.0 feet (hyperglides) or logitech (puretrak hd) may fit but I don't really know I don't have an aurora.
puretrak HD feet would be faster than the aurora feet pretty much guaranteed (not always desirable though)

Guess I could sand off where the feet go and put the new ones there. They just glue on anyways. ty for info

wonderlandpuretrak HD > hyperglides > stock teflon, ebay teflon feet > puretrak perfectglide, stock plastic

Speaking of those puretrak HDs for the WMO 3.0/1.1 would those fit the Ninox Aurora since it's based on the same shell? It looks like they'd fit but not sure. Maybe they wouldn't even make a difference off the stock Aurora feet.

#27 low fps on tf2 with gtx 970 in Q/A Help
SetsulCalling the 8350 bad even though plenty of people stream on worse with better results than OP

OP, overclock your CPU if you can. Use max frames configs and vpks to increase FPS in tf2 as much as possible. No matter what it's going to drop so you might as well add more head room.

I have a 3570k and overclocking it from 3.4 to 4.2 gave me a bigger FPS boost than some FPS configs, especially for streaming. Don't be scared to do it if you are. The 8350 is a good chip, especially for streaming. Just because it's old doesn't mean you have to change our your whole system for and intel based one (though I do think intel is a LOT better now).

If you get below 120fps after using max frames, vpks, overclocking, and experimenting with using different cores for different tasks then something is probably wrong with your system. I really don't think an 8350 should ever make a game go down to 40fps. That's pretty ridiculous unless you're playing on 32 person servers with shit flying everywhere.

ulmyxxRam speed vs ram Quantitiy which one to pick.

For most people the most you need is 8. A select few will need at MAX 16. I personally would pick 8 gigs at both a fast speed and relatively low CAS latency because having good speeds and high latency and low speeds and low latency just ends up being around the same.

KAMOI'm building a rig for myself and have bought an NVIDIA card. Now I'm looking at 1440p 144hz monitors and this whole Free-Sync vs. G-Sync tech is confusing the hell out of me. Do I HAVE to buy a monitor with G-Sync to since I have an NVIDIA card? People are also mentioning two cards, can I get away with just one? (Only playing Source games at the moment) I'm looking at 1440p because the monitor will be shared between my gaming rig and my design laptop. 1080p isn't enough real estate for my work usage.

You don't need either Free-Sync or G-Sync but I'd recommend G-Sync until Free-Sync is improved. If you're playing source games and have a good GPU you especially won't need either one unless you're okay with a premium on the monitor. And yes, one card is fine depending on what it is for 1440p.

#204 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread (last updated Sep. 9, 2013) in Hardware

Been looking into getting an aluminum pad but not sure which one. I want something large than 12" horizontally and can work on optical sensors. Was looking into getting the SlamePad but it's not sold in the US and I want to make sure it's a good investment with $60-70.

I thought about just grabbing a piece of anodized aluminum and gluing some rubber to the bottom but apparently it needs to be coated with something for mice to track well on it so idk.

_KermitDoes anyone have recommendations on SSDs? I've had a look about over the last few days and the Samsung 850 pro/evo seem to be getting really high praises, does anyone have experience with either? That or recommendations of similarly priced drives.

What price range are you looking at and for how many gigs? If you're looking at the 850 I'd assume you want something pretty premium. If you want to go for a drive that just came out and is blowing everyone's mind with performance you can look at the Intel 750 for PCIe (you can do through M.2 but not many people have those). It's to the 850 as the 850 is to HDDs basically.

If you don't want a PCIe SSD then the 850 or M550 by crucial is also really good.
