#5 Steam Autumn Sale in Off Topic

I'm trying to figure out what Easter Egg is going on here..

If you scroll down the Sale page to the bottom, it says 'Spring' instead of 'Autumn' sale, and if you click on the 'Featured Items' it flips everything upside down..tell me your secrets Valve >.>

Edit: correction, once you click on the Featured Items at the bottom it flips every single page in the store upside-down lol

I never realized AG supported L4D as well... neat!

Yea, LTD lost their financial support and one of the community members turned to Nahanni to help them out and she did. It was a pretty recent event, maybe a couple months.

PrestoDid anyone used to play L4D in more than a casual manner?

\o/

If there's some people here that played it/play it, would anyone be up for some L4D pugs?

Let me know and I could let you guys use one of the L2L/AG group servers.

MewtwoThere is competitive L4D? What have i missed

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/L4D2_Scrim_Network <--Group has more helpful links, there isn't much casting going on atm though, but when there are casts, the casters post in the scrim groups to let people know. Once I get my Blue Snowball I plan on starting casting again in prep for L4D3.

#3 does our education system suck? in Off Topic

'No child left behind'

Explains it all. When the school system starts caring about how a child might feel if they're 'left behind' because of their grades, you know they're doing something wrong.

#142 AG Supports CEVO in Expanded League in TF2 General Discussion

I think the point of my post was missed.

I'm in no way bashing the idea of a LAN for all divisions, but how are you going to justify people in the lower divisions, all flying out there? Not everyone has money to spend on flying to LANs and they would not make that money back at all even if they won 1st in their division. Assuming all the Invite teams made back their money, even if they came in 4th, none of other teams of the other divisions would make back their money (12 teams (assuming there is open/IM/Main) * 6 people on each team = 72 people). You also run into scheduling problems with a lot more people and what if a few teams can't make the LAN?

My only thing, is what if the lower teams don't want to fly out to LAN because they have nothing to gain from it and/or some of their teammates are too young/can't afford it? I'm not trying to be a Debbie-downer, but that's a realistic problem and that's what I was trying to point out. Not everyone in the lower divisions have the intentions of going to LAN.

And m, I have played ESEA before.

But did you check the standoffs.

#10 computer won't boot in Hardware

I had the same problem awhile back, and it turned out that I never installed the standoffs on the back of my motherboard to keep it off the chasis of the case and it was grounding out..again..and again, until I realized. Did you ever install them? Maybe you've just been lucky until now.

Look like this:

I agree, it'd be nice to see all of the division-finals take place at LAN, but you have to think about how much money they'd be competing for vs the cost of the trip there for each of them. If the prize pool is anything like ESEA, only the top 2 or 3 teams in Invite would really break even/gain anything.

potbut the lannnnnn

Yea, the LAN (when it starts happening), will be held in conjunction with another major LAN. Meaning it will be better and not held in a hotel lobby.

I know there was someone in one of the other threads that said that they'd be willing to donate $6,000 to help out with a new league. If you see this, why not donate it to the prize-pot for CEVO (not sure how the money would be spread out amongst the divisions)?

#64 meatshot 8) vol. 5 in TF2 General Discussion

I'm with Spartan, I think you're all missing the point.

Every-single-person who has ever installed the ESEA client (since who knows when), have a backdoor on their computers right now (from what people have said). So now everyone has to either dig through their computers/registrys and try to find it, or reinstall. I mean, for some people I guess they may not care about their computer security, but I am literally going to burn my old HD that had ESEA on it.

I can only hope that the players in ESEA all stop playing and unregister from Premium.

Hold on.

So you're telling me that ESEA put a backdoor on my computer that did not come off with removal of the software?
