Did you make your own custom folder?
Put the hud stuff in steamapps/common/TeamFortress2/tf/custom/USERFOLDER/
Userfolder can be named anything

StrifeI used to use Flame's/Community HUD and made further tweaks to it... what HUD is currently popular/the closest to that if people are familiar with it.
Not sure what's popular but huds.tf is a thing now. So you can go there and find a hud you like
With all the new updates is the allowed weapons pretty much the same i.e. vanilla weapons with only a few updated items like ubersaw/melee weapons?
Pretty much yes. Most people still run stock with the exception of some winger/escape plan/medic unlocks.
I'm assuming I can just check the servers tab for current DM servers, what about PUGs? I used to use mIRC with captain picks and tf2lobby, do people still use those or is there a better solution now lol?

just click on them and play until your eyes bleed and you pass out. Then wake up the next day and do it again. Nothing can replace putting in time into dm and practicing. You'll get back to where you were in a week or two.

Basically college/university level courses. A lot of schools even accept the credits.

I have a 6850 and want to upgrade. I'm looking at getting something around $150Cad so I'm looking at the 750ti but also found this deal on a 6970. Would I get more performance buying 1 of these single cards or should I get a 2nd 6850 for $90? Also I'm running a 500w psu so I'm not sure if I'll have enough for 2 cards.

Chingoo+Ben+Shrugger need to work on their dm.
Meb+shrugger should be shaking off the rust but all of them have plenty of room to grow
