EmmaWatsonTwitchTVJohnProwerNvidia being better than AMD is a myth. The 7970 out performs the 670.
You do not need an i7 CPU for streaming/gaming/browsing.

Just gonna point out that Emma's build uses a GTX 770, which outperforms the 7970 slightly.

This is a good catch. Regardless, it's not about giving somebody what they want when they are asking on a forum for advice about a build. Help him make an educated decision on what to purchase rather than blindly letting him spend his money on things that are unnecessary.
unnecessary is 2 ssd's with a 1tb harddrive.

You are a keyboard warrior. I clearly stated that the PCPP link I posted was bjorked.

Help him make an educated decision on what to purchase rather than blindly letting him spend his money on things that are unnecessary. If he still decides to go with what he wants, that's fine. He needs to have the correct information before making that decision, though.

EmmaWatsonTwitchTVJohndrop the 670 and get a 7970ghz addition instead.blinK4) Definitely want to go for a top of the line NVidia gpu.

Yes, but this is coming from somebody who clearly doesn't know what he is doing. He's asking for help on a forum. When this happens, you explain to them why some of their assumptions are incorrect. This allows them to make more intelligent decisions when spending a large chunk of their hard earned money. People that say "I can spend $1200" don't need to spend $1200. If they are asking for help, you give them valid, educated opinions and explain to them why these parts are a better value.

Nvidia being better than AMD is a myth. The 7970 ghz out performs the 670 significantly.

You do not need an i7 CPU for streaming/gaming/browsing. An i5 3570k will save you $100 to put elsewhere on the PC, or into your pocket. (I recommend #2)

An SSD is the last option for a PC. You do not build a PC around getting an SSD nor do you compromise any other components for them. They are a luxury, but they are the last luxury you should consider when building a high end gaming rig.

If your room is slightly warm, you may want to look into some solid aftermarket fans.

3 C is easily doable with proper thermal compound. It's a complete waste of 10 dollars. Drop the evo, drop the 670 and get a 7970ghz addition instead.

For some reason prices are bjorked on PCPP, but this is roughly $1100.
This is a good build, but why are you getting the hyper 212 plus instead of the hyper 212 evo? it's just a few bucks more and the difference is pretty big. Also, BlinK clearly stated that he needed an i7 processor. Why give him 2 SSD's and a 1TB storage when he says he doesn't even come close to filling 500gb?

Here is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hbHC

It's $65 more expensive than John's but marginally more powerful.

You're looking at 1-3 c max on the 212 plus vs evo under full load. The same idle temps. The fans that come with the evo are a bit noisier as well. The 212+ is a better buy.

#2 Building a new computer, looking for suggestions in Hardware

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/12TDR

With rebates this comes out to 772. The 3570k will significantly out perform the FX 4100 in modern games. The RAM is faster as well, but that doesn't matter much. You'd be giving up an SSD, but you shouldn't compromise other components for a faster drive.

#55 EVO 2013 - Fighting Game Championship in Esports
FoxTwitchTVJohnkrakowI had no idea Scar worked at twitch.tv. That is awesome.
He started a couple weeks ago. Great guy to work with. Also pretty good at Smash, apparently.
i asked a twitch staff member working at evo what i should start doing if i wanted to eventually work at twitch in the future, since i'm still a student, and he said if i wasn't already studying engineering then i don't have a chance

can you confirm this T_T

With most tech companies, engineering is the primary focus. I didn't go to school for engineering, but I knew the right people at the right time. So yes, I wouldn't 100% confirm, but I'd say it's far more likely. :P

#11 ESEA Prize Breakdowns are out in TF2 General Discussion
KissmeI don't think the reason that TF2 got any sort of increase in the prize-pot has to do with the bit-coining. As Turin stated, it only really affected people that play CS:GO for the most part.

I think the bonus for TF2 came from the fact that TF2 as a game has grown (this is the 1st 100 team season in how long?..no honestly, I'm new, I don't know), and hence, they gave us more money.

This is the biggest season ever, AFAIK.
