Paladins is much bigger than TF2 at the moment and will continue to be so, they have tournaments from ESL and 100k LANS.
i know, i've watched the Vegas Lan and i myself like playing paladins competitively moreso than tf2, but i feel like the main stepback that's seperating Paladins from becoming one of the more popular games is that the league is streamed entirely on facebook. The LAN wasn't, but the regular season was streamed on facebook, and facebook streams are yikes

cap time on trainsawlazer for each map is 5 minutes, and sometimes the timer pauses. not only that, the game only ended after 3 matches and people had to go to hl scrims, so the lobby died before the 3rd round ended
