#13 Why would anyone use 4:3 stretched in TF2? in Q/A Help

4:3 stretched gives you wider models, whereas lower FOV gives you wider and taller models, but at the cost of vertical FOV, which is very important in a vertically-oriented game like TF2.

Lower FOV also affects depth perception and makes movement feel slower. Not a problem if you're adjusted, but spectating other players renders the game in their FOV, so you'll be constantly looking through 75 and 90 FOV, making it difficult to maintain familiarity with the feeling of lower FOV.

Some people also experience motion sickness or other ailments in games with low FOV (this being one of the reasons Darn wanted OpenPlugin, IIRC), which doesn't happen with 4:3 stretched.

#5 Fixing Crosshair in Q/A Help
pauseThe particular crosshair you're after has already been drawn and is included in the pack available here under the name wingsdot.

As a quick note, this particular version of konrwings has a different shape than the crosshair used by yz50/clockwork, as well as being outlined and fully opaque. Not sure what nick_'s version looks like.

#2 Fixing Crosshair in Q/A Help

1. Are you using the correct font? There are many variations of the KonrWings crosshair, depending on the font and glyph that you use. I believe clockwork and yz50 just used the crosshair font included in broeselhud, but this thread links to this font.

2. Are you using the correct settings? There could be discrepancies in the clientscheme ("tall," "weight") or in the hudlayout/wherever the crosshair is drawn (size, "xpos," "ypos," "zpos," "tall," "wide"), as well as your in-game crosshair scale. I don't know what settings clock/yz50 used, so you'll probably have to eyeball it.

3. It could also be your resolution; yz50 used 1024x768, although the resolution during rendering was probably different. Not sure what clockwork used.

If you still can't resolve your issue, you may want to look into drawing VTF crosshairs so you won't have to align two separate elements.

#62 who was the best player at pointless gamemodes? in TF2 General Discussion

scout mge: dante, aaant, dolphin rider came to prominence through mge, shrugger beat mike and yuki on LAN and b4nny in the TOTH mge

soldier mge/ultiduo: mike, timus, delpo are self-explanatory; polar(oid) has a screenshot of him beating delpo 20-5 and came third in the old mge tourney, meddle had like 2800 elo but liked to use reserve shooter so idk; apparently mangachu once had 2900 elo but i dont think hes won an mge tournament; platinum won the old mge tourney with lots of big names and had 2700 elo; tlr was really good a long time ago but apparently davey could beat him easily, asianriceguy also beat grape in ultiduo, ducky is the endif god

demo mge: bullet, although hes fishy af, hassassin has beaten bullet a couple times, phrakture back in the day

medic mge: indust lol

#1 Logitech/Mumble Settings Resetting in Q/A Help

Every time my computer exits 'Sleep' mode, certain settings in Mumble and Logitech Gaming Software get reset; specifically, Mumble re-enables "Hide in tray when minimized" and Logitech Gaming Software re-enables the lighting effects (which I usually disable). I'm not sure if these two events are related; as far as I can tell, nothing else is acting out of order.

I recently restored my PC to factory settings, and I did not have these issues before the restoration, using Windows 10 before and after restoring.

#9 Where can I find HUD explanations? in Customization
ZootSuitRioterEricwhat does vgui_cache_res_files 0 do?allows you to edit res files and the do hud_reloadscheme to see the changes, for most .res files at least. without it you have to restart the game every time you want to see the changes

I have vgui_cache_res_files 1 and I've always been able to use hud_reloadscheme, literally didn't even know this was a command
