#9 coffee in Off Topic

For simple strong cups I use a Vietnamese coffee thing. It takes crap coffee and makes it mostly palatable.

Green tea for work doesn't give a caffeine buzz but still satisfies me :)

mmmmm hot brew good topic

#47 book recommendations in Off Topic

The Road - mad max type stuff, you can cheat and watch the movie too.

Parable of the Sower - more mad max type stuff with an undisclosed religious vein

Oryx and Crake OR The Year of the Flood - more mad max stuff with some science

Snowcrash - really fun cyberpunk type stuff

These are all on the easier side to read or plow through. Shouldn't be too hard to make the American dream connection either.

#6 Can't stop raging. in TF2 General Discussion

My humble opinion is maybe you should take the reins and maincall when you can see the game better than your teammates. At least it would help w/ their timing?

4 pages and no Outcast from 1999?

Moscow Symphony Orchestra and choir, done.

If you played the old Tribes w/ this disk in,

it would play a track over and over for the map. good times.

#22 Autoexec not working. in Q/A Help

SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\MY CUSTOMIZED\config\cfg

as per the instructions here - http://tf2cfg.info/help.php

adding the \config\cfg folders got it working for me.

With autoexec residing in the cfg folder.

#3 tr_walkway_rc2 wont work. in Q/A Help

What worked for me was to try and play it online and auto download the map from the server. I then started my own server and no problems.

#15 I sleep too much and want it to stop. in Off Topic

I'm going on 17 yrs working nights. All of the previous posters advice is sound IMO.

Ginseng is an adaptogenic that seems to help adjust to changes in the environment.

For me--
I would often pull "all day 'ers" on Fridays (staying up 24 hrs +/-) and then sleep, waking up after 7-9 hrs of sleep. This would give me a reset for the weekend. Nap late on Sunday and a bit groggy for Monday. By Tuesday sleep time I would be tired enough to lapse back into day sleep.

Now I just do 4+ hours sleep during the day and try for an hour+ nap before work. Weekends stay up till 2-3 am, sleep until 9-10 am

If you can find a sleep pattern( no matter how wacked it is) your body will adapt to it.

Good luck and enjoy the sunrises :)

#11 Newbie Mixes in Events

From a newbie, THANK YOU!

what a great way to encourage the newbs to get more game time under their belt.

Can we use a standalone IRC client to join these? My PC is wicked old and gets

a bit cranky running browsers, mumble and TF2.

Again, Thanks guys!
