#14 South Florida TF2 Charity Lan in LAN Discussion

Guys,

I talked to Eric Smith of Valve. He said if I create a medal and put it on the workshop they would be able to give them able to players who attend the event! Who wants to help me make a medal :)

The more the merrier.
If the turnout is good I would love to turn this into an Annual Event. All for a good cause!

Location and Date:

Versus Gaming Center - 750 E Sample Rd, Pompano Beach, Florida 33064
Saturday, August 16th, 2014 Noon - Hopefully by midnight
They will be providing the Gaming Rigs, no need to bring your own!
You're more than welcome to bring your CFGs on a USB

Game Type and Rules:

Both 6s and HL will be played.
Entry fee is $10 per person.
You can register as an individual and get drafted onto a team or register you and your friends as a team.
The servers will be provided by a third party, doing this will allow us to set up STV for Casters to come stream without experiencing terrible lag.

Prizes:

Prize Pool(explained below) plus there will also be Raffles for items such as Unusual Hats (Currently limited at 2)
Also, thanks to the guys at Valve, everyone who participates in the event will be receiving an in-game Untradeable badge (Kind of like the ones for participating in Comp Seasons for those familiar with them)!

Charity Information:

Childs Play will be the charity of choice
50% of all donations will be sent to ChildsPlay while the remaining 50% is put in the prize pool and to help pay for the costs of the event.
So, the more people that come and the more people donate the more the better the prize pool will be.
I will be donating $250 just to plump up the pool a bit. We can't accept TF2 item donations because then it would be on us to sell the items and then send the proceeds over to Childs Play, but if you would like to donate items for Raffle Prizes then you're more than welcome to do so!

None of this would be possible without my good friends over at Knova Gaming. Check them out on facebook.

That's the right play! (Comp Gaming News and Server Hosting, website coming soon)
Versus Gaming Center

Plus we also have a surprise sponsor who will be at the event, they don't want us to use them in any official advertisements though :-/ (hint: "______ gives you wings")

Official Capacity is 100 players, we WILL hit this mark, so join the group to reserve your spot!

Players Registered (Or involved with the event) thus far:
If you are on this list it is because you are either signed on to attend the event or are affiliated with it in some sort of manner. This list does not include tag-along-guests or local area players who aren't affiliated with any comp community.

Hotels in the area:
Here's a list of hotels nearby the venue in case you are not feeling up to driving after a long day of TF2.
