gg kawaii sexu desu desu. So sorry about all the bullshit with literally everything going wrong with our players, and thanks for giving us time to work it out. Moy is self-flagellating right now...

Well, someone beat you to it, I think, cause we've had a ton of time this season w/out starters due to computer, work, and other issues, so... do curses stack? Or do they undo each other? Who's our open curse expert? ;)

So yeah uh if any rosterless (hopefully high open) scouts wanna add me to play for us for one night... that might literally be our only option... christ.

We might be fucked for both matches this week because Ed's computer won't turn on, and BOTH of our scout subs have prior commitments, and we almost certainly can't reschedule. ;__;

#9 PC Won't Turn on, Completely Puzzled in Hardware

While you're checking the motherboard, you might wanna also look for swollen/burnt out capacitors. Like, compare them to each other and see if any are bulging. A broken capacitor once caused my friend kind of similar problems, I think.

I sort of doubt that that's it since the board was functioning until you switched out the CPU, but it doesn't hurt to check.

On our team, there are a few folks that are recognized as being good, but not everyone realizes how good Bacon (mostlybacon, not Mr. Bacon or BaconRush) is at roamer. On top of his dm, he's probably the best of anyone on our team at making the smartest and most useful plays he can based on what others are doing and comming, which is a huge contribution to our coordination. It's especially cool because he only had two seasons of UGC 6s before we picked him up. He just lurked the scene before then.

#12 Good jump maps for beginner/intermediate jumpers? in Q/A Help

I'd just go on one of the Tempus beginner servers (they have east and west coast and are listed on tftv's server page) and play whatever's there. Not all the maps in rotation are fantastic, but you'll gain exposure to a lot of different ones, and the rtv and automatic map votes every half hour keep you trying new things, which can help to not get frustrated. :)

Also, I think jump above is probably my favorite beginner map.

#39 Summer Reading in Off Topic

I've been meaning to finish The Code Book by Simon Singh and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, but I don't generally enjoy nonfiction or historical fiction half as much as sci-fi or fantasy, so idk why I do this to myself.

#25 What keeps you motivated to play tf2? in TF2 General Discussion

Leading a team is a big part of my motivation. It's actually the same irl, where I'm better and happier at work when I have autonomy/responsibility as opposed to being managed. My personality makes it difficult to consistently do things for myself, but if I'm responsible for a group of people and get to run things my way, it keeps me going. I try to set standards for the people I play with to keep improving, and I refuse to fall short of those standards myself.

Also, I put tf2 stuff on habitica, which is a site for managing to-dos, daily tasks, and habits. Habits that you set up with just a "plus," you can click every time you do them to get points, and they'll automatically get redder if you go a while without doing them, so you can keep track of how much you're actually doing. Here's a portion of my habit list, to show you what I mean:

drshdwpuppetOh I completely agree, sometimes I take a pseudo "moral high-ground" approach to things and say "I shouldnt have to pop here" or something and it does negatively impact our games.

I feel you. Someone very early on in my med career told me to make uber decisions like that, and I regret listening to him cause it set me up with such terrible habits to unlearn. Like, if you're fucking up, you can often blame it on your team with that mindset, but no matter how good they get, they'll never be the perfect theoretical team that defends you all the time. Sure, it might be good to take a risk if it could win you a round and your team isn't in a losing position if you die, but there's a difference between taking a risk and just being stubborn when you're guaranteed to die.

But yeah I feel like the best solution is to really carefully examine where you feel like you shouldn't have to pop and make sure that your team knows in specific terms what you need from them in those situations. Be open to valid reasons they might not be able to give you that every time, and be patient as they adjust. Otherwise, they'll just learn to play around your drops and not fix those mistakes.
