#74 DreamHack Winter 2015 TF2 Invitational powered by Marketplace.tf & esportunited in News
EvrewsIt'd be sick if Froyotech could attend instead of one of those teams

And how do you propose Froyotech raise the several thousand dollars needed to buy tickets to get them to Sweden in a months time?

#6 Why can't ESEA teams self-report as dead? in TF2 General Discussion

You can drop your team from ETF2L and it works fine there.

AuraI don't want to sound rude, but Molesto and Twiggy aren't the most hype inducing casters. I think a lot of people would prefer to have the game casted by prem players.

And what makes you think you know anything about how we find casters for a game? It's hard to get premiership casters because (surprise) they're practicing to play in prem.

Sheepylolwonder
you didn't ask KRITZBERG FOR DEFENCE :///

I think they should have asked other teams like KRITZBERG if they could play (I know you had to find teams on short notice though) and then maybe have a playoff for the 4 spots in the tournament. I've been told that saints don't even have 6 players yet and like I said they haven't played a single game yet as a team. I know i'm being negative about this and its really good for TF2 but for next year I think it would be a lot more fair for other teams who might want to go to be able to compete online to get a shot at going. I still believe that a team that hasn't even formed yet are getting to go instead of a team that has actually been together for a long time and have proven themselves online. I think it would also be really exciting if next year we had a playoff cause it will give upcoming teams a chance to win some money and play at LAN.

You don't appreciate how little time we have. Discussing availability with say 8 teams or so to have say 3 invited and a playoff for the 4th would have made these discussions take a lot longer and we are already late with making travel arrangements so delaying another week or so for a playoff would only make things worse.

Sheepylol they probably won't even practice for (saints aren't even playing online right now)

I can't comment on any of the rest but this bit isn't true.

SetletWill it be BYOC at the tftv stand/exhibition area?

Or do they play at their computer seats?

We will have room for 2 teams to play + casters in the exhibition hall

CondescendingCandlestickwait if this is happening are there any plans to get NA teams there?

There isn't enough space or enough time to get NA teams over.

Not a LAN thought but most people don't have any idea how much dashner has put into tf2 over the last year.

#72 MTG Buys Out ESEA in Esports
owljoejoe347afaik most, if not all, na teams have their own servers, so I don't think that's a big issue.
Yeah it is if league matches are to be played on them. I've never been comfortable with the idea of using private servers for league matches and IMO it's a huge reason why esea has been so far ahead of the pack for so long.

Private servers are fine for scrims but you need league-provided servers for matches.

Never been an issue in ETF2L. As permzilla says the league hasn't provided servers for a long while now and the only problem is maybe hopping around a server or two before you find one that suits everyone although that's more prem players being prem-adonnas. You also gain a lot of freedom with private servers so we can run logs.tf and livestats (and the cheat feed) which are much better than what ESEA provides.

#6 Longer break inbetween rounds in TF2 General Discussion

I don't think anyone disagrees with the idea of a longer break between rounds. The only real disadvantage is the server time still runs down so over a 30 minute map you might spend more than a minute of that in downtime between rounds rather than maybe 30 seconds. I'd say that the extra time to talk between rounds is probably more useful to you than an extra 30 seconds game time in most cases.
