If you upgrade your hardware you can use your original windows v/7/8 disk then upgrade to 10 for the first year.
Paying a bit of money shouldn't be that big of a deal. Or if you're that cheap you can just pirate it. Although I wouldn't put it past microsoft to make the free upgrade available after the 1st year, just with embedded ad's.

has anyone else using a xonar dg soundcard with the uni drivers been able to get a microphone to work?
