I remember when we did something like this what feels like a lifetime ago...

I'm guessing im still the only one from sask.

TFTV player map (outdated by a few years but probably still helpful if people are lookin to make these lists)

Oh cool, didn't know there was a newer version.

#7 Zidgel's Gizmos in Projects
CaptainZidgelI didn't write anything for this. I just built an executable from an external module. Module
Want to execute rcon commands when not in game? The best thing would be a website but I'm not running a server* for that so this is the next best thing:
A distributed executable rcon client. """Written"""** in Python. No python installations or dependencies needed on your end.
Direct download: https://github.com/CaptainZidgel/simple-rcon-client/releases/download/b1/RCONCLIENT.zip
Docs: https://python-valve.readthedocs.io/en/latest/rcon.html#using-the-rcon-shell

*Hmm... perhaps after I eat my noodles I will look into hosting a thing on heroku.
**I didn't write anything. I built the rcon implementation from python-valve into an executable.

I build this so that I could use it on Windows instead of opening an Ubuntu vm to use rcon outside of TF2, and I could click an exe instead of typing out a longer than necessary command.
The quote-unquote source code is available on the same github if you'd like to make sure I'm not skimming your rcon passwords.
Again, to reiterate, this took no work on my end. Huge thanks to the original author of the module, Holiverh

Forgive my ignorance, but aside from you doing this as a hobby/project why use this over something more robust like HLSW?

#3 VA monitor panels. in Hardware
bearodactylsorta off topic but on the subject of fancy 27 inch monitors i just got the viewsonic xg270 and its rly good if ur okay with 1080p, colors are sick cuz ips and response time/anti-ghosting is rly good too surpisingly (cuz most ips panels have mad delay)

thanks bear, i'm looking for at least wqhd for this one. But if I can find that one at a good price it might be something worth looking into

#1 VA monitor panels. in Hardware

Looking at a new monitor and just wondering if anyone here has first hand experience with a VA panel.

The OPTIX MAG272QR checks off everything on my list of things I want (price, res, refresh, size etc...) however, i'm used to TN panels.

Just wondering if the ghosting i'm hearing about on VA panels is as bad as it sounds.

Alternatively, do you think that going for THIS ONE would be worth the extra $50CAD + TAX?

#19 Headphones in Hardware

Just whatever you do don't get baited in by advertising and read lots of reviews..

One of my friends bought https://www.exeoent.com/psyko-headset at full price when they launched and they sounded unbelievably worse than my ATH M50's at the time.

#2 TF2 No Sound Mod [Intended for recording VoIP] in Customization

Nice mod. I used to use something similar that I commisioned back in 2016 (thanks again JarateKing) that removed everything but hitsounds. No clue if it still works but if its useful at all to anyone here you are. https://mega.nz/file/Fc0nGSbB#ZAZrcFpkdcaHwIVrlqoxmt8Oyet9zgCgXQEt8GxJwJw

#14 Top 5 favourite current rappers in Music, Movies, TV

Shiki-TMNS
Army Of The Pharaohs
Nieve
Grieves
Audible Mainframe

I don't listen to a whole lot of rap these days but those are probably my current top 5.

edit: misintepreted title to mean rappers i'm currently into and not 'current' rappers. Army of the Pharaohs and Audible are out then.

#5 bring back team tags in TF2 General Discussion

That was one of my favourite things Luc did as a team captain. Made sure we all had icons and were tagged up for matches. It may sound stupid but it made it feel like I was on a 'proper' team and it was good for morale.

only thing I dislike there is the killfeed location but that's easy enough to move. I've always been a fan of some of the jankier huds though. Ell'sHUD is also nice
