jnkiCyanici was actually watching the badlands i40 grand final stv demo(2010) a few months ago, and it still workedglitturei thought you guys were going to get the stv and recast the match with new casters and a new hud but it ended up being just a rerun of the i46 cast lol
stv demos from that time definitely wouldn't work properly nowadays
in fact, even completely new feature like match hud worked
the issue is working properly not working at all - viewmodel animations are probably screwed and modern plugins like castingessentials probably wouldn't work. then again i could be totally wrong and this could only apply to POVs

YeeHawwthe edit you sent is really nice but a little too heavily edited for my liking. I'm just looking for someone to do something for me that I'm too lazy to do myself.
(also I don't have shadowplay, tried a lot of different OBS settings but none of them give the nice clean look you can see in thazu's love frag movie. It's just a bit too much effort for me to get everything to look nice)
someone who can edit a video heavily can also do a simple video for you - editors can't only make 'edits'.

can you smooth demos without HLAE?

console's post is good advice - if you use HLAE with lawena as well you never have to change your game's launch options.
wonderlandedit: one more thing, you won't be able to see yourself in a pov demo, so you would have to use a teammates pov if you want to record your character model
this is incorrect. if you use the command 'thirdperson' you will be able to see your world model in the smooth.
if you are serious about making very nice cinematics though consider using SFM with imported "demos". I would be happy to teach you how to do this.

Cyanicfrom sigafoo's point of view it makes sense to attempt to gain some form of control over the 6s playerbase in order to slowly change the ruleset into something that matches his ideals, so of course he's going to begin by offering the established rules.

I didn't imply that it was bad. Read my quote carefully. I do however believe that there is a possibility sigafoo can use this as a platform to employ his ideas in the future which is something I would personally not enjoy.
