#39 Are you happy with the pyro update changes? in TF2 General Discussion
eddie_calderonhow can people expect anything from a dev team that makes updates that are "mediocre" at best every year, and make less updates that are *WORSE* every day, and introduce/not fix more bugs every year. i struggle to think of another dev team who consistently dissapoint me without name dropping EA or some other AAA company

reminder valve is worth billions

current dev team was dealt a shit hand and have an insurmountable mountain of bullshit to wade through before they can fix their game. there are like 18(?) people working on this game last time i checked. they have no resources.

#34 Are you happy with the pyro update changes? in TF2 General Discussion

i feel most of these changes suck due to utility creep clownery over 10 yrs (bonk, razorback, gru, base jumper) and unlock oversaturation.
the heart of most of these items gets lost through repeated attempts at convoluted balancing (amby, bonk, atomizer, etc etc). the wordage on these new changes is so dense and cluttered. meanwhile we have gunboats : -60% self damage at the cost of no shotgun.
this is why whitelists were necessary in the first place.
the root of the clownery i believe lies in the attempt to make off-classes less niche, when the opposite is what was needed. the point of a niche is not to muddle it down until it doesnt do anything, but make it thrive in those special situations.
tf2 was used as a development playground for too long. for there to be any chance at a big comp scene we need a new game with the same engine, and unlocks and classes with more surefooted, confident properties. top it off with sparkly new graphics and the casual playerbase will come flocking for nostalgia, and the comp players have a real home.

(also i want better maps)

#32 Heavy & Pyro: How could they be changed? in TF2 General Discussion

The only role that pyro fits right now is abusing airblast on blands/gully last doorways.
We need a real concise definition of what "fix" means to us and what niche the classes we're trying to fix should fill.
Is the goal to keep both classes as situational specialists or to bring them up to speed with the rest of the 6s cast?
How much of the core mechanics do we want to keep?
Are we actually gunning for all unlocks to be whitelisted? etc
Obviously heavy should be a damage sponge, but idk what role pyro is supposed to fit in the 6s meta if we get fixed airblast.

#64 pick/ban system in TF2 General Discussion

Pick/Ban discourages newcomers because, unlike dota, you don't have access to every weapon in the game from the start. Granted, weapons are really cheap but still.

#1 LFT Scout/Demo/Roamer? Mid-high Open/Cevo in Recruitment (looking for team)

Hello there friends, I am looking for a team. 3.4k hours total.
I enjoy the Scout and Demoman class, and could probably pick up roamer again if need be.

Experience
Highlander :
fireice fan club (Steel, s9)
Brilliant Minds (Silver, s11, 2nd place)

6s:
Church of High Ground (Silver, s12+s13)

I was going to run my own cevo team, but it fell apart.
I have pretty good dm, I'm a very aggressive player. I have a history of getting angermad at the video gams but I try to keep it together. I also call everyone bad.
I'm almost always free, can pay my own fees, etc.
