Tell them how happy you are.
My parents used to go hard on me for not studying enough since my grades dropped from straight As to Cs over the years. I've never really learned school stuff in home or did homeworks after I ended primary school, because for me it's a waste of time and the straight way to having a boring job. I told them how happy I am, that I do care about self-improvement (learned some IT stuff), but nothing that's being taught in school besides history interests me and I'd rather live my life happily than waste it on learning useless stuff to get a well paid tedious job and that I'd rather do something I enjoy for a living and earn just enough to keep myself afloat and go to the cinema once a month or two. Sometimes it helps to shock them to make them realize you are your own man and are capable of taking your fate in your own hands. It did work kind of, they still don't agree with me and they'd rather have me learn about triangles than programming, but they know it's my choice and I know that whatever I do they may complain, but they won't stop me since they trust me. I can be either amazing or miserable following my own path, but whatever happens I'll just be happy I didn't waste my time prior to this date and whatever I achieve will be my own merit.
