#110 1/25/15 New Open teams, how are you doing? in TF2 General Discussion
clyph0rdIs it common for teams to sandbag in IRC?

I always ask for low open scrims.
In the past three weeks, we've scrimmed two IM teams, one high open team running two huntsman snipers, and an invite team (all of whom said they were low open to scrim us). The only one I recognized before we started was the invite team, who, when asked why the fuck they were trying to scrim a low open team, said something along the lines of "we aren't going to try hard."

I don't know about anyone else, but I personally think this is kinda ridiculous :/
Our team only has time for 2 or 3 scrims a night, and it's frustrating when people waste our time with 5-0 rolls. Not sure if the other team is looking to screw around, or just get a confidence boost or something, but we are all pretty tired of it (especially since we already get 5-0'd against any mid open teams).

At this point I should probably go memorize the names of everyone in invite, IM, and high open.
[/rant]

I've been trying to find other low open teams to schedule scrims with, with very little success. I am quite sure I am shitty at scheduling, but it seems weird that of the approx. five other teams I try to scrim regularly, only one is ever available more than like one night a week.

If you consider yourself a very low open team, feel free to add me.

Confirmation that we aren't secretly an invite team looking to waste your time.

I remember when I first started playing. Played a lot of teams which were way over our experience (but that is how you learn as a team) or were trying to troll.

One thing you can do is tell them you're a newer team and would like a link to their team page. And like steve said, add team leaders. Then you can just message people when looking for scrims too if IRC doesn't give anything helpful.

#16 GXL LAN 2014 fragvid in Videos
Mr_OwlMaxHaxCheeris got the frag on xalox after he taunted, now that was a highlight.
she also interrupted the melee fight with a crossbow, which is unforgivable.

Hey now! I'll take what I can get. Thanks. :]

#31 PUG groups that are active? in TF2 General Discussion
SAAM_Knuckles_SYOPS pugs are dead no one play them. If you like to play sniper class or like to yell at teammates while playing games they are very dead and no one wants you.

#freespadez

still waiting on getting my ban for being friends with someone who went sniper to be reversed.

Just talk with me. The reason why some people were kicked were because of their constant negative and non-helpful attitude to teammates or just not comming.

I unbanned sniper like 2 weeks ago. So anyone is welcome. Just dont be hurtful to your team (that includes bad attitudes but you would get a warning on that). And they are not dead. We have pugs nightly. Matter a fact there will be some tonight.

#3 lft anyclass (prefer scout/medic) ESEA/CEVO in Recruitment (looking for team)

Thanks bud. As for +/- could care less. If people want to say something they are more than welcome. Ie my looking thead a few seasons back with +17 frags so yea...

Honestly the +/- probably came down to some team decisions I made a last season. But you just gotta live and learn.

As for the mentor thing. I love this game. Been playing since before esea season 9. I used to watch demos and talk with team-mates about the game. Thats what I want in a team. People/team-mates who would gladly listen and give feedback.

Will play anyclass.

Played 1/2 a season each in open on: Pocket, demo, scout.
Medic: open/IM playoffs several seasons.

Looking for a committed team that wants to improve and work together.

Available pretty much any day. Just doing some HL currently; on mondays and sundays tend to run until 1030est. Not sure if I will continue playing HL next season.

#18 GXL feedback in LAN Discussion

Decided to compile a list of ideas people had so far. Probably missed some people's suggestions. So bear with me if I left some out.

Compilation of ideas:
[*] Official setup time (no events planned during that time)
[*] Computer/gear rental options. Especially for people who have to take planes to get to the lan.
[*] Chairs (more comfortable)
[*] Tables - smoother surfaces + more overall + table cloth?
[*] Designated spectator area with chairs already setup
[*] Designated shuttle times that would go in between hotels and event.
[*] Pre-released schedule of events.

My personal suggestions:
[*] Volunteer signup (discounted lan ticket price if you volunteer to help out for something) - I saw times where fragile was running around frantically. Maybe people can offer assistance for areas unanticipated. Even something as simple as rounding up team captains for competition. Things of that sort.
[*] Online list of where people attended and their "seat" so others can find them. This way you can still choose a seat but others can find you. :)

I might have an extra gxl ticket if anyone is interested. I should know for sure later on tonight. Add a comment to my steam prof if you want to talk to me about the possible ticket.
