raspberry pi wont cut it, but even an old machine sporting an i3 with no gpu and a couple gigs of ram will do, that’s what I used to run my own server on, i formatted one of my dad’s old work machines installed debian and was up and running in an afternoon
im not sure if it was routing but i found that people tended to sport slightly higher than usual pings (30 instead of 15, 50 instead of 30, etc).

I dont think anything getawhale said was unreasonable. i fail to see how any of this makes him a tard or how any of this is all about him.
In fact the reality is that this seems to be about his shared misgivings about the management of essentials with other production staff, and if you cared at all about the quality of tf2 production on the highest profile events our scene has maybe some of this would worry you.

I never bothered trying this until today when valve apparently decided to make this the official client.

@smesi i average 80-120 fps in sixes with an i5 laptop, its playable but expect to play in 800x600 with a config on par with comanglias stable or mastercoms medium low/low
The biggest factor is the resoution, step up any higher and your fps tanks like a mf
