#23 "Matchmaking will fail" - Muselk in TF2 General Discussion

Pub players often complain that there's always a steamroll in pub servers so hopefully giving them a super easy way to have a closer game will inspire them to play more. Once matchmaking actually does matchmaking (as in puts people up against you of similar skill level), I'm optimistic that players not currently in competitive will try it out and realize that this game has so much depth skill-wise and will be inspired to play and try to improve.

Valve MM will probably end up being a place where people can have casual, close games and won't be as serious as actual competitive play anyway (like in CSGO). The idea that the community is too "casual" doesn't really make any sense because MM won't be overly competitive anyway.

#1 the soldier screen shake thing in Q/A Help

I see a lot of high level soldiers (especially recently) flail their mouse back and forth after firing a rocket. Why do they do this and why don't other projectile users (demo, medic) do this as well if it's beneficial?

edit: this seems like a good example https://youtu.be/HnwiH-pkW2M though it looks like he's doing before shooting like you all have mentioned
