#20 Fantasy TF2 Proposal in Projects

Hello everyone,

Tf2fantasy.com, which is currently being developed, is looking for people with ideas for the design of the website, and PLEASE i really need people who can help me figure out how it will happen, like buttons, or forms, etc.

If you have any ideas, add me on steam, or comment here!

Were still taking all kinds of ideas for the website itself, and questions will be more then welcome, I am happy to answer.

Currently, we are working on the site itself, and in the future, want to make a system to read logs, and update the site automatically, without me going through every match and updating points.

So far it plans to be you sign up for an account, then you can join a leauge that hasnt started yet. Once we get enough people within a league,

Tino_Really for the logs and such if you can get a bot to scrape that info from esea or logs.Tf or whatever it would make life so much easier.

Possibly. Ill look into it, but that would take some serious programing.

SideshowThe website isn't the reason it failed. It requires constant inputting of logs from official games, and updating prices etc to keep it relevant. Creating the website is a tiny amount of the effort required to run this system if I understood Jon correctly, and wouldn't be enough to create an alternative.

In the end Jon decided it was too much work for the small amount of attention it received iirc.

For sure. Were collecting a team of 6-7 people to help upload logs, prices, etc.

DreamboatBaddazleI was thinking of making different small leagues, and people pick players for each league. So in short, only 1 player could get picked, but we should see how that ends up.
This would be really hype, you could have an option to do an NFL Fantasy style league, where its head to head. max 8 teams, which pick via a draft, and since there's 9 invite teams, it would allow there to be a "waiver" pool to add/drop players from, with a minimum of one player from each class (2 scouts).

Also, if im not mistaken, the old add/drop system allowed you to do transactions mid week, so if ascent played a double header on tuesday, and froyo played wednesday/thursday, you could swap an ascent player for a froyo player early on wednesday and get points from both players right? I really wasn't a fan of that (unless I misinterpreted it, which could have been the case), because it meant you won by micromanaging. I'd much rather see individual players lock after they played their first match started, and unlocked after their second one ended, that way you essentially commit your team on a week to week basis, which means busier people are on even grounds with people who have time to make changes daily.

Will see. All questions related about this go to Rhetro. I agree with nfl style.

Not quite how to put it into words, I want to make it something maybe like live drafting? Add me, and we can talk about it. I'm not interested in paying anyone, but if you want to help out with the ideas, or even programming, hook me up.

Just add me, we can chat or hop in my mumble.

RhettroBaddazleRhettroI would say that price should be based on how many people have that player on their team, while points are given based on the player's performance. In conjunction with that, you could make it so that there is no budget limit, but instead reduce the amount of points you get based off of the money you spend.

Couldn't agree more with the unlimited budget.

Would the sub-leagues be class-wise?

Also what is your plan for making profit?

I have no profit in mind. Reason I'm doing this is actually because I have to much time.

The sub leagues would be divided into something as of ESEA Season 20, League 1 and 2. They wouldn't be class wise.

GetawhaleIt would be lovely if player values fluctuated based on performance. So say for example you pick up a relative unknown player like sen for cheap, and he goes mental on sniper and top frags week 1, his value goes up and you then have more money for other pick ups. Or likewise, if you pay a lot for a player who under performs, their stock falls (and others could pick them up for cheaper, in hopes that their performances improve). Jon's implementation seemed to lack this.

For sure. Totally agree. I cant guarantee that for every single player in the start, but I will try my best to keep up with every players performance.

Howdy

My names dizec, and I have multiple years of experience in programming, but have never created a full-on project. Gentlemen Jons Fantasy TF2 was wonderful, but seems to be dead for the NA side of competitive.

I am looking to create a new website for it. I have the knowledge to create it, but wondering how the community wants it made?

Different leagues, and for each you pick different players? A point system, for different players? Or something like the original where certain points for different stats?

Let me know, this is just an idea.

Thanks,
Dizec
