#39 Warhuryeah rant? in TF2 General Discussion
frenzyxPhoenix21frenzyx you can switch to OW that takes less skill to get to the top, and actually make some money while doing it.
that's just flat out wrong, it's much easier to get into prem in tf2 than it is to become an overwatch pro.
if you watch the overwatch pro players that came from tf2 the vast majority of them play overwatch a lot to improve their mechanics, good examples are the french players that played overwatch since closed beta non stop everyday for hours, tviq, shadowburn, dummy and seagull all play overwatch more regularly than they used to play in tf2 to make sure they get into the pro scene,if it's much easier and also will earn you money, why aren't more people are at do that?

i don't know if its wrong or right, its just my opinion bout OW and TF2, i feel like its easier to get in to OW and make some sort of profit, then TF2 cause every season i play in ESEA im not going in and saying im going to make money at this game, i am actually losing money. I play this game because i love it. I just think its easier to get your foot in door in OW.

If any current bottom invite/prem team were to put in the same hours scrimming as any of the top 16 teams globally in OW they would be the best team in TF2 since old Froyo/Mixup in two months tops.

It's possibly the easiest it's ever been for the past two seasons to get into the top of TF2. There were teams this season that literally never played outside of matches and could be top 4 teams or top 2 (ronin).

#74 TF2 update for 8/16/16 (8/17/16 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion

Tagg definitely has a point in that certain features Valve wants to implement probably need to be tested to see if they even work considering how drastic the changes are to a very old and largely untouched (technically) game.

But I mean if you have two highly successful games with extremely functional matchmaking systems why would your matchmaking not be set up the same from the start? Stuff like placement matches, functioning regions for ping, reporting.

They literally have two different and near perfect templates to work from. It actually makes zero sense and can't be excused after months of development. It's so inherently retarded it's like they just pretend that CS GO and DOTA don't exist and just wanna reinvent the wheel but instead use every shape that isn't vaguely wheel like first.

#108 How is this happening in World Events

I love how isolationism has suddenly become super popular for the alt right thinking that developed post manufacturing nations can suddenly reverse 100 years of global economic and technological trends.

That's worked out real well for plenty of others in the past not even considering the absolute insanity of the idea in today's market landscape.

ScissorseeeHow is leaving the EU going to affect quotas? You do realize why there are fishing limits right? All you've done is remove yourself from the governing body that was imposing those limits, you haven't removed the need for fishing limits. If you start fishing more as a "fuck you" to the EU, you'll just overfish the channel and shoot yourself in the foot (which seems to be a common theme here). If the fishing limits were so unfair, why is your idea to say "fuck fishing limits" instead of trying to change the EU or negotiate with France? The level of subtlety and political insight in your posting is pathetic, you think like a literal child. I don't even mean that to be rude, I'm being 100% serious when I say your understanding and interpretation of the situation is so shallow that it genuinely feels like a child trying to wrestle with it.
Or maybe he just thinks that the british fishermen should be the ones fishing in the british seas, and not frenchmen and spaniards? It's ridiculous, they don't let us mine the swedes ores because we don't have any.

All EU members have exclusive fishing rights within a 12 mile radius from their coastline. It's just in the open waters between EU members that countries can both fish. If a country, in this case France, is fishing within the protected zone they are breaking the treaty/law.

Example:

http://britishseafishing.co.uk/scallop-conflict/

Most of the quotas in place exist not just for general areas but for specific regions, in this case scallop fisheries closer to the British Isles rather than the French coastline due to differences in spawning rates.

So in the scallop example, UK scallop fishers get a better deal. While in the other examples other types of French fisherman might get a better deal due to specifics of the location of certain spawning grounds and some politicking.

So without these EU quotas the UK loses access to some areas they might not be able to fish anyways along with certain preferential treatment in them compared to French fishers, but they also earn some disadvantages in other areas. It's an economic yin-yang whose subtlety is generally lost because people focus on their immediate situation instead of the net gain/loss.

The fisherman will do better but the fish won't. Hence the points those quotas exist.

Refer to the aforementioned "big government is stifling business!!!1111!!" as all the business interests try to destroy regulation

The whole Leave camp is another fabricated grassroots movement just like the Tea Party in America. You get the people with strongest nationalistic ties (older folks, blue collar workers, etc..) then whip them
Into a frenzy of how their money is supporting a system that is oppressing then (taxes/regulation) and changing their way of life (immigrants) except instead of your national government like in the USA they used the EU boogeyman with its tyrannical laws.

Just like in the Tea Party the immigrant talk was used to get the reactionaries out to vote and the supposed saved money will all funnel to politicians and their partners who wanted to get rid of pesky EU regulation in the way of their profit margin. The working man won't see a penny invested into the public or wages.

But I bet in another ten years or even less you'll see this movement renewed but now with the EU gone they'll be looking to even more aggressively chop up your regulatory bodies because "big government is stifling business".

I've seen enough of this shit over here to see where it's going.

#11 UGC hosting Overwatch League? in Other Games

Just keep the majority of UGC admins from making anything other than administrative decisions and the league could be decent

#52 The Highlander Open #2 Sponsored in TF2 General Discussion

Anyone that thinks HL is anything other than a burden on the growth of TF2 as an esport only needs to see how Valve has already abandoned it in matchmaking to realize their delusion.
