Honestly, the most successful (and recent) thing I've done to prevent myself from tilting is to just mentally prepare myself by thinking "I'm not going to get upset no matter what happens" over and over again for like an hour before doing whatever it is that I need to go do, be it scrims/matches, etc.
As for practice modes like dm/mge and things of no consequence, If I'm feeling shitty during dm or whatever I just leave the server, go get some water and boot up quake live and track bots for an hour until I feel calm again.
If you're gonna be mad you might as well use the excess energy to be productive until you wear it out.

People saying that they'll give me a tryout and then pick up someone else before even letting me play. Is it so hard to tell someone that you don't want to play with them from the start?
My bus stop at the end of my street got removed due to construction so now I need to walk 40 minutes in the freezing cold every morning to get to the next nearest stop to get to campus. Especially fucking frustrating when I found out one morning without warning and got to class late for an important lecture because the fucking bus website didn't post the changed route.
People think I'm a mega-tilter because I snapped on fen's stream during that match we lost.
My house has terrible heat circulation so I freeze my ass off every winter. We have one heater that actually works and it's in our living room.
