I feel like I aim worse with my fk2 on 1600 and with .5 sens than with it on 800 and sens 1. Placebo is more noticeable than any effect the settings actually have on the game.

1.) Check in the system info panel in your bios whether or not you can change fan settings.
2.) Make sure that you have the correct lenovo energy management software, it's the only thing I've used that lets me change fan speed on mine.
3.) Make sure that the fan is actually plugged in, it's possible that it got knocked loose.

There are plenty of individuals selling them on various trading sites, and there's usually a reasonable amount of competition on prices. Marketplace is pretty standard, though.
