Yeah, although it was like a year ago at this point, things have no doubt changed a lot since then. If I remember correctly, however, Ascent (or w/e they were then) actually beat Monster despite playing on Brazilian servers w/ 100 ping.

I feel like in general, both the Brazilian and Asian scenes are small enough that, most likely, their top teams won't really have the same potential to win (top 5 tho? absolutely imo) an intercontinental LAN (as opposed to the Aussie scene, where IM clearly had the potential). I would love to be proven wrong, and it doesn't mean we shouldn't have top Asian and Brazilian teams at an all-out intercontinental LAN. But that's my impression nevertheless.

idk if he's the #1 MVP, but ma3la should be worthy of consideration. He switched from roamer to pocket after day 1 and consistently put up huge damage and frags, while maincalling. He was without a doubt the driving factor behind Ascent's comeback on day 2, and I think that's a pretty impressive accomplishment considering that Ascent were down in the lower bracket already at the end of day 1.

Time lasted in Turkish LoL scene before wanting to bail: about 2.5 months.

I've since learned that this break also gives the production team a much needed breather. Admittedly, It probably will also bring in more viewers. As sad as I am that I won't be able to watch the most hyped match pretty much ever, if it's good for TF2 than it was the right decision, and I'm glad of that.

I scheduled my volunteer time around this, and now I have to leave 1.5 hours. It's understandable to want more viewers, but if you have a set schedule and you have the opportunity to keep it, you should.

This really fucks some people over and leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I've been busy all weekend volunteering and I set aside time specifically to watch the Grand Final this morning. Now I'm just fucked. :(

Froyo in 2

nR in 5

Reason looked a lot better today (as did Ascent, RIP), but Froyotech has looked soo good... I think Froyotech will take it in 2 close maps unless Reason can continue to really improve.

In the final, I'm still favoring nR. They'll be well-rested... I think they'll take the GF in 5 maps, it'll be really close but nR should have the edge, particularly if Zebbo keeps showing up the way he has.

I completely agree with SpaceCadet. Fwiw, I think Reason will recover, but I'm not so sure about Ascent... They'll have to play either TLR or nR before making it to a match with Reason/Froyo. Ascent has a very rough road ahead of them, but if they click like we all know they can, they can do it.

For Reason, it's very clear what they have to do, and they were already doing it in their game vs. Ascent... They need to hit their shots, and pick the right fights. If they can keep on improving and get over the first day jitters, they could still make a serious run, and could even beat Froyotech in the morning... Stranger things have happened.
