#6 G700 vs G500 in Hardware
32hzI didn't have a problem with my side buttons, they actually felt great

I think this is a personal problem as the only button that broke was my PTT key

32hzFuck setpoint though

Yeah that's a piece of shit, worst configuration program ever. But they updated the G700 to use LGS now which is great.

What do you think of the G400 in comparison to the G700? I spent ages deciding between G400 and G500.

SpideHow did you make a ctap script using the logitech software?

Thanks for the comparison by the way.

Here's a screenshot of the set up. You can see I've assigned it to the top left button. The scripting is pretty self explanatory. Press ctrl down, waits .060 seconds, lets control up, then jumps and shoots at the same time. It definitely works, can do gran mid balcony to balcony jump everytime. Just requires a little bit of getting the timing to work.

#1 G700 vs G500 in Hardware

I changed from a G700 to a G500 today. If anyone cares I've made a little list of pros and cons if anyone is interested and is making a decision between the two.

The shape is almost identical, I had to move my hand a tiny bit towards me for the G500. I palm grip both mice.
The feel is the same, has a nice fine, smooth sandpaper feel on the sides, good for gripping.
Both have hyper scroll, I use this a lot for scrolling through long documents and web pages. Also, flicking through your weapons really fast is cool too.
The Logitech Gaming Software is amazing, has so many features to create versatile macros. You can assign anything to anything. I've used it to make a ctap script.
They both use the Avago ADNS-S9500 which has acceleration, but can be disabled in Logitech Gaming Software. It is a laser sensor, which I know a lot of you flip about over. But the difference is really not amazingly significant.

G700:
+ Go to gaming mouse if you HAVE to be wireless
+ More resistance to scroll wheel
+ More macro buttons (only used one of them)
- Feet are too slippy, because it's wireless it's fallen off my desk sometimes because the feet are so slippy
- Cable is very thick and clunky because of it having to have multiple connections for data and charge. It moves the mouse slightly when you let go
- Side buttons are not robust, I use it for my push to talk key and the key has fallen out multiple times, had to get replacement

G500:
+ Much more tactile side buttons, better clicking
+ Weight cartridge is great, I like to have a heavy mouse, but it is versatile in the weight factor
+ Cable is so much better, does not move the mouse at all
+ Very stylish pattern on the middle section of the mouse
- Scroll wheel is slightly lighter to scroll than G700, personal preference here
- Less macro buttons but it is suited to my needs more than the G700

Overall, the G700 is basically a wireless G500 with more buttons. They have the same sensor.

Can't seem to get this to work, maybe it is incompatible.

I managed to get mine to work, I put a copy of the old gameinfo.txt I happened to have saved in steamapps/username/team fortress 2/tf/

Here's a download to the old version: http://www.mediafire.com/?977xiav7l7vttn9

I use the quack hit sound. Sounds like it'd be dumb, but it's actually really good. Also, it has a nice pun. Quack/Quake

kuzaI own multiple mice from every company (aside from corsair) and I'm now 100% a zowie "fanboy" as I've been called, lol. But the AM/FK, or the EC evo series are all top notch.

pics?
