Looking for scrims

Alright so we just made a new 6s team recently and we want to scrim regularly, the thing is that we are new to the comp/6s scene and so we aren't that amazing yet. *I would like to know where I can find scrims for the team.* I could just get scrims from the Etf2l discord server, but won't Open teams be a bit too good for us rn? Or is that the way to improve?

Thanks.

PS: from Europe

also this one https://discord.gg/5VehvF #scrim-eu
you have to start somehow and some open teams may be even worse, so just try it

Back in the day, when I was new to comp, made my first team and asked questions the answer to which were obvious to the already initiated, people were eager to help and some pillars of the EU community (from Team Colonslash if anyone remembers) even joined in for some friendly banter about our team name. I remember this quite fondly.

Thanks to Rockz for giving the lad a better first impression of this community than Makemake was able to.

I guess when you're posting in the discord channels you could say that you're new to comp so it's more likely for other new open teams to contact you instead of teams which are more experienced.

Also if you found teams which are good to play against keep their leaders in your friend list so you can arrange some matches via direct messages instead of asking some "randoms" on discord

Part of the TF2 comp experience and rite of passage is getting owned by better (in this case open) teams, until you are the better team.

Though you still get owned by better French mixes.
