Texture filtering spheres?

The game creates spheres around me that filter textures at different levels, at different distances. Was wondering if there was a way to have textures be consistent, and similar to the top image. I've tried mat_filtertextures 1, but it forces the textures to be of higher quality.

nevermind, I forgot (for a couple of years) to import the LOD file into nvidia inspector with 120 as the value. The value was apparently stuck at 24, causing "rings" to filter textures differently around me.
