Got talking to a microphone enthusiast by email yesterday, he sent me this bargain he found on ebay as well as a sample recording of the microphone. Don't want to publish that recording publicly but it sounded great for the price.
Not reviewed that much on the English side of the web, but has 4/5 stars on Amazon.jp for $80.

Normal retail price is APPARENTLY $120. I'm presuming they're not fake considering the reputation of the eBay account.

These are different than the $100+ ones. I know nothing about headphones, but for one these are binaural and the expensive ones are circumaural.
And yeah, they're on a few sites for 20-30$

Just got my pair yesterday
Audio quality isn't bad, but it sounds a little muffled. Not a huge deal for me though, I'm not really an audiophile.
The mic is good quality and the build quality on the whole thing is great. Wire is thick and stays straight. I'm generally never disappointed by audio technica, and these were no exception.
