In short, I can't run an ethernet cable to my room for my PC.

Looking for a relatively cheap (under $40 CAD) alternative that's good enough to play videogames without much lag.
I'm used to playing on wifi so it's not gonna be too bad for me and after buying a shitty usb one that I just returned, I am at a kind of loss for what to get.

Any help will be appreciated.

Edit: My router is located downstairs, probably 2-3 walls inbetween.

which is a router extender since my main router is downstairs so this helps a long, being that its right next to my pc

How about one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/GL-AR150-ext-External-Antenna-Repeater-Tethering/dp/B015CYI8DY

You may want to pick one with an external antenna instead of the internal one if you're going for range. It's pre-flashed with openwrt and powered through a microusb port. Feed it your wifi info, set it to repeater mode and you're done. You can also turn it into a pineapple, lol
