a crosshair request

Yeah, last time I needed a crosshair done I asked Dane and he did it for me, just asked me to upload my resource/scripts folder so he could just do it from there and then give me back the modified folders.

I don't have that one and it's likely I won't have it for some time so I asked Dane to make me another one but it's been a long time since I asked for the old one and he doesn't quite remember how to do it anymore (my pc is still coming with the moving by ship which is taking reeeeeeeally long to get here, and im playing on my laptop, where I don't have my old configs).

So if anyone would be willing to make a crosshair for me in my hud setting that would be sick:

I would be looking for one of those with

A + in the middle
A circle around it
The circle blinked red when I damaged someone
And the default color for the + and circle is green/white or light blue(preferred)

I can probably give some hats or whatever to whoever does it, thanks a lot beforehand and here's my resource/scripts folder (i'm using broeselhud if that changes anything):

Thanks again :D

What kind of circle? thin, thick, and how opaque? Also, what resolution do you/will you play on?

is it at all possible to upload your resource and scripts? I use omp's @1920*1080 and I'd love to use this xhair.

omp's already has all of this in by default actually, you just have to enable it

specifically:

at the bottom of hudlayout.res (just change the 'enabled' and 'visible' values to 1):

"OmpCrosshairPlus"
	{
		"controlName" "CExLabel"
		"fieldName" "OmpCrosshairPlus"
		"font" "SymbolSharp24"
		"fgcolor" "0 255 125 255"
		"labelText" "+"
		"xpos" "c-100"
		"ypos" "c-103"
		"wide" "200"
		"tall" "200"
		"visible" "1"
		"enabled" "1"
		"textAlignment" "center"
	}
	"OmpCrosshairCircle"
	{
		"controlName" "CExLabel"
		"fieldName" "OmpCrosshairCircle"
		"font" "Crosshairs24"
		"fgcolor" "255 255 255 255"
		"labelText" "9"
		"xpos" "c-100"
		"ypos" "c-98"
		"wide" "201"
		"tall" "200"
		"visible" "1"
		"enabled" "1"
		"textAlignment" "center"
	}

and in HudAnimations_tf.txt:

ctrl+F "event DamagedPlayer" and it should look something like this..

event DamagedPlayer
{
	//Animate	OmpCrosshairPlus		FgColor "255 0 0 255"		Accel 0.0 0.0
	//Animate	OmpCrosshairPlus		FgColor "255 0 255 255"		Accel 0.2 0.0

	//Animate	OmpCrosshairPlusSmall	FgColor "255 0 0 255"		Accel 0.0 0.0
	//Animate	OmpCrosshairPlusSmall	FgColor "255 0 255 255"		Accel 0.2 0.0

	//Animate	OmpCrosshairCircle		FgColor "255 0 0 255"		Accel 0.0 0.0
	//Animate	OmpCrosshairCircle		FgColor "255 255 255 255"	Accel 0.3 0.0
}

just take off the comment //'s in front of the OmpCrosshairCircle section, and change the coloring to your preference.

in either of these, you're probably going to have to recenter everything on your own though (i play on 1680x1050), just something to keep in mind

it's 99.9% centered in 16:9 aspect ratio, but off center in 16:10, could you center it for that? Or just tell how to center it ourselves?

yup! just open up the hud_layout.res file in your scripts folder, find the crosshairplus/crosshaircircle sections, and just start changing the xpos/ypos values, saving the file, then using hud_reloadscheme in console.
i usually center by turning on the ingame crosshair, i think its crosshair7 or something, just a simple cross, and trying from there

if you just want to upload your resource/scripts folders and give your resolution, i could just do it though i guess lol

Just tweaked some stuff up a bit to fit my liking. Thanks tophu!
Seems perfect, but what irks me is this little part of the circle that's chipped off on the right, tried changing some numbers around but doesn't seem to work out. :/

It's on 1366 x 768 by the way, if it helps :)

try changing the 'wide' value for CrosshairCircle in scripts/hudlayout.res to something bigger

edit: nvm. played around with it before i went to sleep. you're gonna want to go into resource/clientscheme.res, ctrl+F CircleFont, and change the 'tall' value from 24 to something larger, 30 seemed to work when i tried it

Is it possible to animate the regular (default) crosshairs with the 'event DamagedPlayer' line? I'd love to have a flashing damage indicator on crosshair6 without any element showing through panels, the scoreboard for instance.

No. HudAnimations only refers to hud elements, not default ones. Try to find a similar crosshair and animate that.
