I am in the Chamber Orchestra at my school and we have been playing some fun stuff recently and in the past. My favorites we have played are:

Dmitri Shostakovich - Chamber Symphony Op. 110 - We are learning this currently

Samuel Barber - Serenade for Strings Op.1 Movement III: Dance - Performed this last week

Ernest Bloch - Concerto Grosso No. 1 Movement I: Prelude - Played this at the Washington state Highschool competition last april

Dag Wirén Serenade for strings Op. 11 Movement IV: Marcia - Played this two years ago at the state competition

What pieces have you played in a String Orchestra that you really liked? (or just like)

I haven't really played in a real chamber group since middle school but my favorite has always been Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no. 3, if only for the cello solo in the first movement (since I play cello hehehe). My other favorite that I was never lucky enough to play was Shostakovich's String Quartet no. 8... maybe one day.

beethoven's spring sonata / op 24, love that one

kreisler's praeludium and allegro in the style of pugnani is one of my favorites

i hate my schools orchestra cuz nearly everyone is pretty much straight up awful like literally 3 people in the whole orchestra aren't braindead

i performed those two as solo because i haven't been doing too much with an orchestra, i've played the violin since i was like 7, i've been doing state orchestra for a few years but it's like a performance once a year and not rlly that fun unless you know people that go from your school and nobody from my school goes

Y'all guys are confusing string orchestra music with chamber music. None of the pieces mentioned are for string orchestra lol. That Kreisler and Beethoven don't even have a transcription for all I know (but if they do, pls post).

Btw I forgot the other great Tchaikovsky string piece:
