Here is the situation, I have hard that your support to cap your fps to reduce variants in your fps. I use a 144hz screen and constantly get above 300. Does capping your fps do anything in my case, or should I just let it go unlimited? I have heard that capping your fps can cause input lag if you constantly hit that cap, Is this still true or has Valve fixed it?

TLDR: Should i cap my fps at 289 if my computer will constantly hit that all the time.I am on a high powered desktop.

IIRC the only reason to cap is if youre worried about overheating or power usage -- the more fps the better! im not sure about the hitting the cap causing input lag thing but ive heard reputable people say its true

Which config to you use? Do you use dx9? I use comanglia's but I still dip below 120 in pubs and midfights on dx9

I use comanglia's for high quality computers with -dxlevel 98. I usually only play in comp servers and very little pubs.

Everyone reports different results - just depends whether locking or unlocking works best for you. In my case, unlocked works better in game.

no, at least not beyond placebo. if you're on a laptop, cap your processor max usage at around 80% to stop it overheating. that gave me way better results than capping fps.
