the gun mettle and invasion updates completely destroyed my fps. before gun mettle i was getting 100-300 fps with config+launch options and i was really happy with it since i play on a bad computer, now, im getting 25 fps in battles where there are explosions and a lot of stuff going on. I use Danpixed diminished explosions but they still dont help much. i lost hope that valve will ever optimize tf2, they just keep adding stuff. I am really really happy that valve is updating tf2 but why cant there be an update just for optimizing? i am saving up for a good pc but i still want to play tf2 until then.

Still blows my mind that people are gaming on PCs that can't properly run an eight year old game.

This might help. Also try changing the command mat_trilinear 1 to mat_trilinear 0 that seemed to boost me a little.
