Can't delete HUD (sounds funny? it's not)

Well, I've installed Toonhud (which has an updater with customization) and now I want to delete it. Pressed "delete" in the updater, restarted the game. The HUD is still there. Deleted the resource ui files. hud_reloadscheme multiple times. Restarted PC. Restarted TF. Deleted updater. Put warhud in custom, removed it later. Nothing.

Steps to do:

1. Delete the whole resource folder and validate files. (What for? There are only .txt files and tf2 fonts.)
2. Uninstall TF2 (Is it really necessary? Help me on this one.)

And, the most important question: What in the world could make my game have the HUD stick to me? Like, really? What is this witchcraft?

I had the same problem for a long time, it was my fonts blocking it, because apparently windows was blocking the deletion of the file. Why it would want my crosshair font, no idea, but it was the only thing I couldn't delete manually.
try to delete the files further inside the hud and if it doesn't let you, then skip it.

Skip it first. The next time you restart your computer, just delete it before you start tf2.
