So for the past few months or so my mic has not been working in-game or other programs except mumble.
I havent done anything to edit settings restricting my mic. When i do load up a source game i get this error in console: Unable to initialize DirectSoundCapture. You won't be able to speak to other players.Unknown command "weapon_accuracy_logging"
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

more edits: It seems once i open mumble on my computer it doesnt allow my mic to work on programs except mumble, even after i close it. I have to restart my computer for it to work again

Right click on your volume control option in the system tray and click on "Recording Devices"
Does it show up?

It shows up all the time, but only lights up when mumble has not been open at all.
