Crashing in Stopwatch Mode

So for some reason, the set up time ending on payload maps is causing hl2.exe to stop working, and I have no idea why. It's only happened 3 times, once on badwater and twice on swiftwater, while trying to do some pug.nahl pugs. It's fine in pubs, so tournament mode has to have something to do with it, but 5cp and KOTH maps never give me this problem. I'll be fine when tournament mode on PL maps is enabled and when both teams ready up, but as soon as the setup timer ends and the stopwatch timer starts, I immediately get 'hl2.exe has stopped working'.

After that, when I restart tf2 and try to reconnect, immediately as I hit 'Sending Client info', I crash again. If I restart steam (even if I delete the .blob files, or defrag) steam forces me to validate my steam files before I can start it again. By then the pug is usually over, so I've never been able to try re-joining after that and see if it still crashes.

It's very very annoying, and I have no idea what the problem is. I feel like it has to be something to do with Stopwatch mode, but I don't know what it would be. If anyone has any clue what the problem is or how to fix it, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Your HUD isn't compatible with Stopwatch mode. Check your HudStopWatch and HudObjectiveTimePanel files. This happened to me, but I don't remember how I fixed it.

Ah that could be. I was testing out Doodle HUD, so maybe that's why. I switched back to Omp HUD so I should be fine now. Thanks!

i had the same problem with one of my huds back in the day. i'd switch configs every time we played stopwatch.

it's just a broken hud issue
