Competitive Config

I recently built my own computer and now I don't need any fps configs. So I wanted to know if there is a config for a computer that dosen't need an fps improvement? Like a config that only disables ragdolls and other stuff that can get annoying. Also, when I press my mouse there is a giant delay between when my rocket launcher actually shoots. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

Edit: I just when into my cfg. folder and noticed there is no autoexec.

The rocket launcher delay is most likely your interp settings: you should set it up like this:

cl_interp 0
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize "2"
cl_smooth "0"
cl_smoothtime "0.01"

play around with these settings to find optimal ones for your setup

rate 100000
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 66
cl_interp_ratio 1/2 (if you don't want to play around with it: most people use 2 for hitscan and 1 for projectiles)

This thread has more information.
As for config: try chris' maxquality or highquality if you don't want fps improvement.

High/max frames is an fps config that makes the game blocky/grainy. high/max quality are configs to make the game LOOK better but won't gain you any fps. sounds like you want quality.

Yeah, I'm going to go with high or max quality.
