Who's getting involved? What all are you interested in/have you got?

I was kinda burned by my experience last year, woke myself at 5am to get to the top of the line. That said, I'll probably head down later to see if I can pick up the first vinyl release of The Field's From Here We Go Sublime. Failing that Alexander Tucker/Bathory/Ozric Tentcales all look good

i love records/vinyls, theyre the best medium for music imo; they have that "warm" sound that lossless audio files cant produce

ive been collecting vinyls myself for a while, particularily 80s and 90s deep house (maybe some contemporary tracks)

is there any way to categorize the record store day 2014 sales by genre, year, labels, etc?

Got Wavves - King of the beach, Ceremony - Rohnert Park and Wu Tang Clan - 36 chambers from my local shop. Was pretty chuffed, coulda got more as they had so much I wanted but decided I should hold back a lil aha.

Closest record store that participates by me is Vintage Vinyl which is upwards of an hour away, so I'm not going to that. All I got online so far was the Full Of Hell/Psywarfare split from A389. Very excited about that but I'm trying to cut down on buying records.

That split is so good, Full of hell kill it. Wanna see them live again.

There used to be a bunch of awesome music stores in Philly, but they are all gone now. I used to make the rounds once a week and usually fill a backpack with awesome stuff. Spent a ton of money but built a pretty impressive collection. It's too bad all these shops are closing...

In my drunken stupor last night I forgot to set my alarm to go this morning, I dropped by a little while ago and picked up the limited MGMT - Congratulations vinyl release and picked up Kanye West - Late Registration on vinyl while I was there. Wasn't too bad of a haul, going to get frames for the both of them later tonight.

d_bdont you guys know that the compact disc is the way of the future????????????

You filthy peasants think you can get high quality audio out of CD with a sampling frequency of only 44.1kHz? SACD is the only choice for the truly discerning listener 8)

On-topic: I like that this event promotes visiting and supporting your local music store, but I don't think I'd ever buy vinyl. It's unwieldy, non-portable, expensive, and fraught with potential mechanical issues (groove wear, keeping the surfaces clean)...
