Hopefully this is in the right place... It Burns When I PvP is a United Gaming Clans competitive Team Fortress 2 Group. We want to give back to our community in some way, and by sponsoring a live-stream for the Child's Play charity (www.childsplaycharity.org), we can help raise money for a cause that all gamers can relate to.

Our first-ever fund-raising event will be a 48 hour live-stream starting on August 23, 2013 at 7pm CST, and ending on August 25, at 7pm CST, and will run concurrently on two servers! One will be an event server, featuring all-star matches of all flavors, and more events announced as they are organized; the second server will be a public server that will be generally open to everybody and feature raffles, item giveaways, and other wonderful prizes! (Public events will be added to the itinerary as it gets closer to the event, and the public server may lock occasionally as certain events dictate.) The main events will be streamed on twitch.tv (http://www.twitch.tv/it_burns_when_i_pvp_event/), however, both servers will be streamed, and any other streams will be provided on our main charity page(http://pvp.clanservers.com/charity/) and Facebook group when they become available.

A big thanks to X3na and Trashed Gamers, co-sponsors of this event, for their generous donation of our public server to make this event possible! If you would like to discuss becoming a co-sponsor or making a donation of an in-game item to be given away or raffled, you can contact the event organizer, Darth Pops on Steam at (http://steamcommunity.com/id/darthpops/) or through the group charity page on (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198095982088/).

In Progress:
-Steam Account for Prizes set up, cant trade with it until July 14, because of SteamGuard.
-Event Submitted to Child's Play, waiting on approval to add donation widget to website.

Things we still need:
-A solid itinerary for both the public and event servers (24 slot public, 19 slot private).
-More TF2 “allstars” to draw viewership to streams, and for signing events, etc.
-More prizes to raffle/give away.
-Best way to raffle/give away items, to maximize charitable donations.
-Set up of STV to twitch streams
-Anything else I am missing.

Thanks for your interest, and we hope to see you at the event!

Current Prize List:
3 Orbiting Planets unusuals
Steaming Magistrate's Mullet
~50 Strange Weapons/Parts
~50 Craft Hats
8 complete sets of 2011 Halloween Costumes (dirty, -soldier)
miscellaneous, incl. Ref, minigames, paints, backpack expanders, etc.
-MORE TO BE ADDED!!!

alfunksothat is the same date as i49 if I'm not mistaken

yeah, it is. ESEA LAN also happens to be the week before.

you might want to consider pushing the event back one week

Sadly, the weekend after is Labor Day, and I don't want to conflict with other weekend plans. On a bright note, I have some confirmation that some people who will be playing in i49 will also be appearing in our charity event as well! so stay tuned for more, and maybe we can get a mention during i49 to push the exposure even higher! Thanks for the feedback!

DarthPopsSadly, the weekend after is Labor Day, and I don't want to conflict with other weekend plans.

What about the weekend after that? Or any other weekend?

And I'm going to be a total buzzkill, but how do we know that the donations will actually go to the charity and not just to the organizers?

I'm all for charity streams, but I don't know who you are, and you just made an account today, so it should be understandable that I'm a little suspicious. :/

On the other hand, since you are new to tf.tv, there was a big 48-hour charity stream for One Step Camp in March. It involved a lot of work and a lot of people, so you may want to talk to some of the people who were involved if you're serious about this.

Appreciate the feedback and questions EBF.You are correct in that I just made an account here, but I have never had cause to post before, hence the new account. Feel free to check my SteamRep, Steam account, etc.

As far as donations, all donations will be through the Child's Play widget that will be on our clan page, twitch page, etc. We won't be touching the money, and that is one of the great benefits of using Child's Play! If you are referring to in-game items donated for giveaways, I can't do much to assuage your suspicion, other than to say that I am donating more than a 1/3 of my backpack, and three unusuals. If no one else donates items, then what I have is all that will be given away/raffled.

On moving the date: Any earlier, and I am cutting the amount of time I have to promote, and any later and we conflict with school starting, new seasons of comp play starting, etc.

I hope this answer was detailed enough, and if you have any more questions, feel free to add them, or add me on steam to discuss further.

EDIT: Wanted to add that I have spoken to one of the organizers of the Tip of the Hats Charity, got some great feedback on what to do/not to do, etc. I have quite a few offers of assistance from the community as well, so I think this thing will be alright.
