I've been having trouble recently, its not with games or anything, but changing from steam page to steam page (Community -> Profile -> Store, etc) takes a ridiculously long time. It didn't always do this, and all of the settings menus still run quickly, so I'm pretty sure its not my computer. Wondering if this is steam's issue or mine :p

I know I found this and it worked a little, not sure if you will help your problem. But it just made it a little faster.
Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections Tab > Lan Settings > Uncheck Automatically Detect Settings
